The issue I am seeing with most is putting smaller ladders on. This looks like a good fit for various size ladders. Anyone using one? Other recommendations?

Was it ten years ago that someone here was celebrating a ladder rack that fits inside the van and mounts to the ceiling? I haven't seen it for A LONG TIME.

FOUND IT. Searched for "Ladder Rack" and went to the oldest post. It's called Jet Rack, the year was 2004, and it's at [Link: americanvan.com].

I have a Prime Deign Ergo rack on my new van and really like it.  I think it can be adjusted for 6ft-12ft A-Frame and any length of extension ladder.

They flip down on the rook of the van which makes loading & unloading a breeze even with taller vans.

I have a jet rack, LOVE It. Got a 6 footer inside my Transit Connect and it fits in my garage.

there is definitely a market for the jet rack, its a smart design. Not what I need or want though. I dont want ANY standing space taken up. I use the van to much and need the head room. Certainly the right solution for many though.

Ive been looking at the Prime Design. Will take a closer look. Didnt realize it has one of the prerequisites: small and large ladders. Thanks!

Think I have it narrowed down to Weather Guard EZGlide and Prime Design. I want flip down on both sides. Looks like the Prime only inclines on one side and horizontal flip on other. Thats likely fine. The WG looks like both incline. SB, you have dual drops on yours?

I so much prefer to see this kind of stuff live, like at a convention.

I've had the Prime Design Ergo rack for a couple years now and still really like it.  It flips down and then drops on both sides (both sides work the same way).

I have one side setup for a 6ft ladder and the other side can take a 10ft or 12ft without any adjustment.  I think I could place an 8ft on the side setup for the 6ft without any adjustments, but don't own a 8ft ladder so haven't tried.

I rarely ever need an extension ladder.  I used to lug one around everywhere I went.

Then again, it would take up more space.

Anyone have one of these telescoping ladders in the 8 ft size?  Website is misleading BTW as an 8 ft ladder is the "12 ft reach" model.

Rather have my Little Giant ladders.

The first one I have is ideal, since it easily fits most anywhere, goes from a 4' to a 7' step in seconds, and is seriously stable.

The second one is a PIA, but is also one great ladder, other than the really heavy weight. It goes from 6' to 11' pretty easily.

Both can be extension ladders, but the large one can be a monster to set up or move around. Although I have used it many times in that extension mode, I would just as well have a normal extension ladder when going up high. But, again, it is the most stable ladder I have ever been on...

Agreed on extention ladder. I wont lug one around for the two times i use it during the year. but an 8 ten or 12 gets used quite a bit. Think I will be carrying a 10 and 8. have a 3 and 4 on the back doors of the van inside. yes, six is most common but thats always in the back of one of the trucks anyway.

And i have no desire to have to deal with any ladder I have to "assemble". Not a fan of little giant types. For me its a PITA. Heavy. clumsy. cumbersome. Hate them.

Check out the new ones with the quick release mechanisms, they're super quick and easy.

I'm with you. I've got the 13, 17, and 27 foot little giant style ladders. I can't imagine using anything else although lugging that 27 foot collapsible ladder around a commercial job can wear you out quick. Sucker is heavy!

The best evaluation of these I've heard is that the owner (a client) has one for home and it's a love-hate relationship. He HATES using it but it's the only ladder he needs for his residence. Come to think of it, he moved recently and that ladder is not at the new two-story location. Maybe he's decided he's too old for that crap!
