No..I haven't noticed..Maybe you guys need to attend a SONOS training?  :)

Zohan. I just checked my own and are also out of order as well. But I also see that my screen looks different then Hasbeen's. Mine shows dates under the Pandora Station name seem to be in descending order. Maybe Hasbeen is running an older Sonos software version.

When I went into standalone Pandora app I see that there are two view options "Recent" and "A-Z". I'm guessing Sonos shows in order of Most recent with latest update.

Not likely to get much better than Sonos. That being said, it has probably taken me a couple weeks, but I have finally figured out that swiping down gets rid of now playing and it allows browsing and room selection. That was clearly not intuitive from the get go.

Still, the dislike, even the hatred for this new version of the app has to have a gotten back to Sonos. It is everywhere, including on their own forums. The question is, how will they respond.

Between the new app being far less intuitive, and having to sign in and create another password, is going in the wrong direction. The ease of set up has been severely compromised with a sign in requirement.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Have a play with Yamaha's MusicCast, there's Spotify Connect if they have a premium Spotify account, as well as Sirius.

What I will say is that it's difficult to know how people will react to a specific app, we often recommend the product based on what we know, not on what customers will necessarily like. If that makes sense...
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

The only "brutal" thing in the Sonos app for me is the way the room zone management seems to show up in two different areas - it's fukcing confusing.
The previous versions were so easy and the change solves nothing.

I noticed in Sonos Desktop Controller that Pandora stations are no longer in alphabetical order.

Found this response from Sonos regarding this complaint:

Message from Sonos technical support:

I understand that you are having some issues with finding your music in Pandora. So Pandora recently updated what they give us to include in the app and unfortunately that includes the inability to organize the station alphabetically. This is something that is out of our control and something that Pandora decides and controls. With this change though they have allowed Pandora listeners to control Sonos directly from their app which does allow you to organize them alphabetically. Simply download the latest version of the Pandora app, start a station and hit the "cast" button to play to your Sonos speakers. Here is a guide about this new feature. [Link: sonos.custhelp.com]

The ironic part will be if Sonos complains about their inability to fully control the services.

What is the worst part about this is the ability to select music in the room you want to. I HATE that you go to room, then select the room, hope that it doesn’t check off the other box for another room, THEN go back to music to select.

It’s awful, absurdity awful.

Are you using the rooms menu or the grouping menu? Having them separate is stupid but I haven't had that issue.

At the point that we need something "simpler" than Sonos, we should maybe just give up on technology and start buying books?

Or AM/FM radios:)

What confused thinking they show!

I understand that you are having some issues with finding your music in Pandora. So Pandora...

"So" starts a sentence when you want to explain the results of what you just mentioned. This happened, so that happened. The writer is saying that Pandora did something because you are having some issues with finding music. This is totally untrue and it's confused eighth-grade writing.
...recently updated what they give us to include in the app and unfortunately that includes the inability to organize the station alphabetically.

Here the writer says that Pandora gave us (Sonos) the inability to etc. In other words, there's something like an "inability" file that they sent out. NO. They took away the ability, they didn't supply the inability!
This is something that is out of our control and something that Pandora decides and controls.

Well, as the complaint has been, things cannot be made alphabetical.
With this change though they have allowed Pandora listeners to control Sonos directly from their app which does allow you to organize them alphabetically.

Wait! You just said it's out of your control and can't be done!
Simply download

I've found over the years that EVERY time someone starts the description of a solution using the word "simply," they're about to leave out several crucial steps!
...the latest version of the Pandora app, start a station and hit the "cast" button to play to your Sonos speakers. Here is a guide about this new feature. [Link: sonos.custhelp.com]

That was really strangely written. It can't be done. They took it away from us. It's out of our control. You can't do it. Here's how you do it.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

This is exactly what is going to happen.

I just had a thought...Here are a few statements that I think we'll all agree with..

1.  Sonos is a really good product.
2.  Sonos has really good hardware designers.
3.  Sonos has really good software designers.

So, how did this happen?  How is it that a app that frustrates a lot of people actually made it to prime time?

Here's my thought on it.. Maybe they purposely made the app a bit more confusing so that users would try and start using Alexa?

I think what’s really happening is Spotify, Pandora you name it want control. Think about it, you log into pandora and there is an Ad front and center. When you use something like Sonos or another product you loose that ad revenue.

I think Sonos is making it hard to use because they get a cut of the ad revenue from the native AP. Makes sense. Yanking it out of C4 and other control systems was the first step.

If this is the path they are all going down then Pandora, Spotify etc etc are going to have to start making hardware.

I think that Sonos hired or contracted a bunch of Apple expats, hence all of the sparse, white screens. Plus, if you have UI designers ... er ... they have to design something.
