Boss is not tech savvy. Has TC and Sonos. I don’t know much about total control and their Sonos connectivity more of a C4 Guy. Anyways, he has a playbar and two play ones but wants to not use the play ones as rears wants them to be left/right audio. So it’s currently set up as two separate rooms but is there a way to control the volume on the pair as well as the playbar at the same time. I wish they just added surround modes and gave you all channel stereo but that would be too easy.

I know, I hate Sonos for not having a 5 channel stereo option. I don’t think any control system would be able to send volume commands to two separate devices at once, then there’s the problem of keeping them synchronized, so in short, no. However, you might be able to add a couple of common functions within the device where you could adjust volume on the Play 1s. So you’d have the main hard volume buttons for the Playbar then another separate Vol+/- for the “rears.” Balance to taste.

Keep in mind in this setup there will now be a slight delay to this L/R pair of Play 1s.

I have a client setup with a Playbar and play:1s setup as a separate rooms with them labeled surround left and surround right. The volume button on TC control just the playbar and the play:1s are controlled by buttons on the screen, "Left Surround +, Left Surround -, Right Surround +, Right Surround -. TC groups the play:1s to the Playbar as well. So far it still works, but I don't know for how long with the changes with Sonos. Client prefers this as he is hard of hearing and the room is challenging 2 story room.

Could you make a volume macro so when you press "volume up" each device gets a volume up command?

I tried that and it just didn't work. Was super unreliable.
