I sent Danielle a message and told her that’s your truck and you’re just trying to scam them.

Amazon reached out.

They have moved my account (business) over to UPS/FedEx and USPS only. They initially gave us $10 bucks and replaced the item. The “executive” manager who I spoke to apologized for the incident and is sending a $75 gift card and a $50 Darden Restaurants gift card for a dinner.

Honestly that’s more then I expected. I was just happy to have the item replaced and the $10 credit. Sometimes amazon can be frustrating, but their CS is normally great!

Amazon is using third party drivers.

They hire individuals who work as couriers on a per-delivery basis. It's like Lyft, or Uber, or Uber Eats. They use their personal vehicles and shuttle items from the hub out to your delivery destination.

My understanding was that they were going to be vetted in a similar way to the Uber and Lyft process, especially for the service where they go into your home.

That is Amazon Flex....they also contract with 3rd party courier services so hire their own drivers....these are some of the worst offenders in these delivery problems

Vetting drivers means looking at background checks for DUIs, arrest records and theft/etc. convictions.
None of that will show potential employer if the guy is tossing boxes over the fence or into a lawn. That will only come up after they're hired in a way of customer complains.

Guy may get fired, but unless charges are filed and conviction is made, next employer will only see employment time-frames, not cause for termination.

That’s comforting, because Uber has done such an amazing job vetting their drivers. I don’t think they’ve had one kill anyone in a couple weeks.

Vetting drivers would be like licensing installers. Most people can get through what it takes to be vetted/licensed, but that does not ensure their day to day performance and practice is up to industry standards.
