Goldenz,
Surely you can follow a, b, c. At least you can follow when there are no interruptions. You're just trolling. It was like this:

I had one client with 10 TV's on IP control and they were both not capable and not willing to be walked through changing the setting back. Lots and lots of truck rolls :-(

Why, if every TV you ever installed has auto update turned off?

See how that followed and made sense?

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

But did you block access to the WAN? Are you sure your clients didn't turn updates back on?

Not doubting the problems that Sony recently had with updates. Heard plenty about it, but I wasn't affected at all because of those two reasons.

How do you block access to the WAN?

In the router config.

How to do it will all depend on the router in use. But basically, you want to block WAN access on the IP of the device in question, that way it is still available on the LAN for control.

Wow, you are and even bigger dumbf%*^ than I thought, and that is saying something.

If you learned to actually READ what people wrote instead of trying to disect every single syllable, you might actually realize that nowhere did I say that an update occurred. MAYBE an update happened in the background that Sony pushed that we are unaware of. I don't write down the firmware number so I would not be able to tell. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, and I know there is no way for your disabled brain to comprehend this, JUST MAYBE, the update that was performed at install before auto update was turned off happened to put all of these sets on the problematic firmware that Brady discussed. Either way, I think the only one trolling is you, but then again, you troll EVERY thread that you post in. How the hell somebody didn't off you in your 136 years on this earth is mind boggling.

You're right. I didn't see all the detail. I missed this, for instance:

He wants to know how an update broke your IP control, if auto updates are always turned off.

That's tweeterguy talking about me.
He understands what I'm talking about but you don't.

Sad.
