Other than networking/telecom equipment, what else do you find useful to have a wattbox connected to?

Those cable boxes the client calls you on the weekend to say he has no signal, when in fact, the cable box failed.

The Apple TV's that have historically needed to be rebooted after they have crashed.

The processor that does not have remote reboot capability.

Components of a control system that are network connected that can sometimes crash or require a re-initialization

Anything with an HDMI port. And set it to automatically reboot once a week with at least a 15 minute power down.

I put EVERYTHING on a Wattbox. EVERYTHING. Most racks end up with at least two wattboxes. Required. No debates.

Except, for example, a drive-based media streamer, PC or surveillance NVR/DVR. Cutting power to those items could lead to catastrophe.

Your'e having issues when repowering NVR's? Not seeing that at all. Opposite. REbooting has resolved issues with NVRs.

The issue I have run into with rebooting NVRs is most throw up a password screen. And have crappy IR interfaces, making signing back in a gigantic PITA.

Otherwise, cable/sat boxes, networking gear, POE equipment and streaming boxes (appletv etc) all get wattboxes.

RTI processors are about the only control system equipment I will put on Wattboxes. RTI has some glitch where their processors get stuck on stupid if they aren't used for several months. I notice this quite a bit with clients that have beach/vacation homes.
I am a trained professional..... Do not attempt this stunt at home.

Wow, not sure that is a fair one. I have used several control systems where the host or processor froze and needed a reboot.

I hear what you're saying and agree.
I don't proactively reboot DVRs/NVRs, but if a client calls...
I do have remotes programmed with cancel/exit button that they can press after reboot or if I have control system, I create a macro called "Fix Cameras" that power cycles recorder and executes couple exit commands x# of seconds later.

I have a commercial job coming up where the IT guy insists on UPS on network equipment. This means a Wattbox after the UPS or I just leave network alone. How many of you guys are using UPS on any equipment these days? I'm not sure if it's an advantage any more.
