My wife while waiting on her 10 uses a 6s daily with no issues whatsoever, my daughter uses an old iPad everyday, more than either of us use our phones, no issues whatsoever. I am lucky to get my 5 year old nexus 7 to boot up. It is archaic and slow as molasses. There have been several tech sites that have done study’s on the useful life of an iOS device vs android device. It is no contest. This is coming from a lifelong android user. From the first g1, OG droid, and everything in between, including a current Samsung Tab. My first iPhone was a 6s+. The fragmentation in the android ecosystem will never let it operate as efficiently as iOS
Agree to disagree. I have a Thunderbolt from like 80 years ago that will runs stuff while I couldn't even get a iPad mini to simply pull up Portal to check some stuff. That iPad has a completely fresh install and up to date. I have a Note3 that was replaced only because the screen got smashed and I figured I'd upgrade to the Note7 (grrr). That phone still runs anything you throw it. My iPad 2, I think I can use the calculator app on it.
I've had iPhones, 4 of them. I've had iPads, 3 of them. I've had Macs, 3 of them. ALL of them needed replacement prematurely after updates rendered them useless or incredibly slow. I liked the fit and finish but that was secondary to function. Except the 7s I had. That felt cheap and like a toy. It just didn't have the solid feel of the previous iPhones I had.

Please submit comparison pictures from your trail cam vs. a newish iPhone camera. This is not a good argument. However, its because of smart phone companies and the money they pour into camera R&D that you can buy a 12MP weather-proof trail cam for $100.

You're a conspiracy theorist. iOS 11 is buggy, but it would be insane for Apple to open themselves up to the legal ramifications for a small boost in sales.
I really wanted the iPhone X, and being a slappy I was really looking forward to it..When I saw the price tags on release date, every fiber of my being screamed F*ck You to Tim Cook.
Think about this...... When I bought my first BRAND NEW truck I paid a grand total of $7000 for it..
What does a new truck cost today? Using Ford's web configurator, the cheapest I can get a F-150 for is $27k. The pre-configured 'Limited' starts at $60k. If you don't see value for dollar in the X buy the 8, or buy a 7S. Apple's not under any pressure to accommodate you.

You know what else your ancient Android devices come with? Massive security vulnerabilities. Seriously, you should not use that device for anything outside of looking at funny internet pictures.
This is part of the reason Apple pushes iOS updates. Keeping all 'current' devices up to date lets them enforce better standards in the App Store and, because iDevices constitute such a large portion of web-traffic, it helps drive larger security initiatives.
That issue has been fixed in the latest beta release. As I have it and the calculator works as it should. You just have to wait until the beta is ready for the final release.

I'm not a fanboy nor conspiracy guy, but... my wife's iPad 2 was crashing safari all the time. Simple needs, email and web browsing, and ka-bam all the time. Just cause it got old and kept getting updated.
I'm typing this on an iPad mini 2 that I've always loved. It works mostly, but with Safari, Chrome, or Opera, web browsing is iffy with a lot of crashes. I'd buy a new one but they may be phasing out minis. NBA.com is a crash test site and painfully slow if it does not crash. That's just one example.
When we went back to the Apple Store, I tried NBA.com on a new iPad, of course it is fine. Wifey got a new one and her crashes are gone completely. I have to make do.
So I would think that over time these might become slower, but still usable. The truth is that they become unusable. Maybe it is just me and my family that sees it.
My Samsung tablet just chugs along. My old desktop is slower, but keeps rolling. I think my laptop is going on 4 - no speed burner, but always works.
Is it Apple not ensuring backwards compatibility, or adding bugs to iOS? We'll never know. I keep using Apple gear because most clients do and my family does.
Except for one son that bought a $49 LG phone with a bigger, brighter display that won't quit and is amazing. No $30 payments for 27 months ($810.00!!)

I curse my iPhone 6 plus daily since the last round of iOS updates. It worked fine prior. Now it’s sloooow.
Some bonus features: When phone boots up it proceeds to download about 50 old texts one after another from like a year ago - I think this finally stopped. Siri is practically unuseable it’s so slow to respond. Apps load slow. Various crashes and freezes When I open Safari and try to type text in to search, it constantly misses the first letter and then delays the typing of other letters. It takes forever for the camera app to open, and then if I take a pic, it takes like 6 seconds before the camera actually triggers. I would gladly have shorter battery life than deal with terrible performance. This is why their explanation makes no sense. And who here know of someone with an iphone that shuts off suddenly. If they do, get a new friggen battery installed!
