No this is definitely an iOS bug and from what I have seen over the years diff people have diff issues. Not everyone seems to have the same bug. That particular blank message bug except for saying delivered and the iMessage header with time carried over from my 7 plus to my X and from iOS 11 on up thru 10 betas, then 11.0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 11.1, 11.2 beta 1 and 2.

Heres a google search with articles on the buggy iOS 11 topic. [Link: google.com]

I've had another bug for awhile where you go into photos... tap the share arrow and type in the persons name you want it text it too and it'll hang there for eternity. Gotta force quit and try again.

I wish i had a link to an article I found before where someone found like 600 user interface issues in iOS 11 and document them all. While maybe not bugs, it was mind blowing. Wrong placement of this or an error with that, wrong font here, etc.

Here is another issue. For the last 6 years Wifi Sync with iTunes just never f'ing works. For anyone I know. Airdrop is a piece of $hit too and rarely works properly.

Since updating to iOS 11 I have to restart my phone (6S) once or twice a week. Also see lesser hangs moving between apps. Definitely the buggiest iOS update I can recall.

My girlfriend has an X, I still have a 6s (which improved greatly with the last update to 11, unbelievably so (usually they turn them into bricks with their updates at this point)
Anyway, the X is light years ahead visually and functionally, but I still prefer the 6s with the headphone jack and primitive charging capabilities.
Except in home theater components, I have never felt the need to try to keep up with the latest technology gimmicks.

Just tried this. It just removed the Camera App icon. I was still able to use FaceID!

Great, thank you.

The X just crashed on me mid text. Rebooted lol. Noticed a couple more bugs too. Good times. Here’s one.... the Animoji won’t play thru full screen. Plays a sec then pauses. Hit play. Plays a sec. pauses again

The color shift I notice it’s horrible. Even at 10 degrees the color hue shifts. I was reading iPhone hacks with mostly a white background on their pages (just like this forum) and was playing turning the phone at angles. It was shocked how bad color shifts. That display mate review sounds like bs.

I had to spend 1.5 hours in the Verizon store today dealing with my 6. (which never gave me a problem..not a single solitary problem since the day I purchased it on Nov.16 2014)

That is....until the IPhone 8 was released..  Now..it's nearly impossible for me to even charge it...The touchscreen sometimes work..sometimes doesn't...I'll be on my network in my home, and my phone will decide that it would rather use my data...

Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I swear Apple is doing it on purpose because of the lackluster sales on the 8 and X.    They figure, they'll just have you update...errrr...break your existing phone so you'll buy a new one...

That's not happening....

I really wanted the iPhone X, and being a slappy I was really looking forward to it..When I saw the price tags on release date, every fiber of my being screamed F*ck You to Tim Cook.

Think about this...... When I bought my first BRAND NEW truck I paid a grand total of $7000 for it..

If I went today and bought a new Iphone X for all 5 family members it would be $5200.  (Without the glorious $300 rebate)...F*ck you Tim Cook.  F*ck you.

Can you tell that I'm a little bent out of shape over this?

I'm seriously considering jumping ship on my phones....and I'm pissed about it.

Think of it this way...

Steve Jobs would’ve charged $1,100 instead.

You've just come to the realization now that Apple completely F$&#S their customers by forcing upgrades by basically making their current devices near impossible to use?

I guess...Yes....I've never had the problem....I'm working with someone on a site right now who literally can no longer call me from his phone his is so jacked up.....When he told me his was jacked....I thought at least mine's ok....3 days later...BAM!  Mother-F*er.

To respond to KOT's comment.  I look at it like this...

Steve Jobs cared more about the products and the design than he did the "company".  He created and designed things people wanted.  He understood, give them a quality product, charge whatever the hell you want and they'll buy it.

Now what apple is doing is ....tread water, bend your customer over, while you're in there grab their wallet...reach around to their front pocket grab their phone and smash it with a hammer...Not a good recipe for success.

My eyes are about to bleed I'm so mad right now.

Sorry but when Jobs was at the helm it was no different. Get them hooked, break what they are hooked on, they come buy more to get their fix. Just look at the dumbasses camping out to get the same damn phone they already had but now with brand new emojis

I never had a problem when Jobs was still running things...I just didn't....I never thought twice about doing an update and my phone always worked...That's why I was such a fan boy....I guess I was just lucky. I don't know.

I was really waiting for the X.  I thought it was going to be so great...When I watched the launch thing online (Yes, I actually did that).  They talked about the 12MP camera...the first thing I thought was...

What else has a 12MP camera?  MY F'ing trail cams....that cost me less than $100 and I leave out in the rain and snow all friggin' year!

Then they broke out the price tag and I almost choked to death in my chair.

Ugh...

I just can’t take you serious anymore after you said a 5 year old android phone is more useful than a less than 2 year old iPhone. Seriously!

My wife while waiting on her 10 uses a 6s daily with no issues whatsoever, my daughter uses an old iPad everyday, more than either of us use our phones, no issues whatsoever. I am lucky to get my 5 year old nexus 7 to boot up. It is archaic and slow as molasses. There have been several tech sites that have done study’s on the useful life of an iOS device vs android device. It is no contest. This is coming from a lifelong android user. From the first g1, OG droid, and everything in between, including a current Samsung Tab. My first iPhone was a 6s+. The fragmentation in the android ecosystem will never let it operate as efficiently as iOS
