A lot of people believe that deodorant causes cancer, especially the antiperspirants that are aluminum based.

Who knows, not worth the stank and offending people around me. Does this make me a liberal? 😬🤣

All that deodorant stuff can be found in aluminum free flavours so that's really no excuse for stankiness.

Living in the (supposedly) most diverse city in the USA habituates one to stanky people. Can confirm most of the world prolly smells like stinky ethnic shit.
I came into this game for the action, the excitement. Go anywhere, travel light, get in, get out, wherever there's AV trouble, a man alone.

Our industry, preceded by the movie industry, has passively taught us to expect that nothing stinks. For more than a hundred years we have blithely looked at and heard stories presented on screen. In the westerns, the horses didn't stink. In Roman epics, and for that matter The Ten Commandments, nobody ever bathed and nobody ever stank. Hell, Marilyn Monroe never even smelled good.

We have been blessed to live in a country where it's possible and, thanks to Madison Avenue, highly encouraged that we smell good, or at least we smell like nothing. Another item where we live differently from the entire rest of the world.

Imagine the smell in the igloo after several months of winter.

I suddenly hear the guys on Madonna's record chanting "li-ving... in the material world...."

Before I heard the cancer scare, I figured out that my body reacts poorly to the aluminum stuff.

How a beautiful, otherwise well kept woman doesn't notice (or care) that she can stank up an entire room and offend both a construction worker and a gas station employee is beyond me.

You didn't suggest a trip to your place for some great "shower" sex?

Sometimes you have to do those dirty jobs.. ;-)

How about those people on the opposite end of the stink spectrum?

Those are the people who put WWWAAAYYY too much perfume or cologne on and you can smell them several seconds before seeing them.

I’ve dealt with more of those people than the ones with super bad body odor.

It's a fact that most can't smell their own odors, be it body or breath.

When I'm near a stinky person, I tell them.
Luckily it has never been a client, and I don't care if I offend a sub.

BTW, some people just stink. I had a large Polak living in my house for several years. I can attest that he showered daily (many days both morning and evening), yet few hours into the day he would stink again.

I stopped wearing deodorant the year after high school. My brother stopped shortly after. We don't need it. Our armpits never stink. We played football for 10 years. Even after an august practice in full equipment our arm pits didn't stink. At first we thought it was diet but later our doctor said it might be genetic.

A few years ago a read an article that confirmed the genetic angle. A small percentage of the population caries a rare version of the ABCC11 gene. Unusually dry ear wax is also an indicator that you might be part of the no stink club.

In a study of 6,495 English mothers, it was found that about 2% of them had this particular gene (mutation).

So I gotta ask: what do your teeth look like?

I live in Boulder.. Nothing like sitting at a bar eating dinner and having a drink when yet another Hippy Hiptster Trustfunder comes in to sit next to you and stink up the place. I've forgotten how many times I haven't been able to finish my dinner.

Worst thing about it is that most of the time they look like clean well kept people while the dirty looking guy with nappy dreads around here smells normal.

I had this issue in my old office. the real estate lady upstairs used so much perfume it would make your nose hairs sizzle and eyes water. we shared the same foyer and you could smell the perfume for a hour after she walked through.

The study was of English mothers. English. Teeth. For the same reason that someone put at the end of a movie about Prince Charles and Camilla "no horses were injured in the making of this film."

Just making sure you didn't want to do something weird with my teeth.
