Today I had to relocate a system from a cabinet in a family room down to a rack in the basement. The client is also have new shelving added to some built in units so they had their carpenter there. He was foreign, Polish I believe. This dude smelled like an armpit that was fried up in bear turds. To say he had strong BO would be a HUGE understatement. He kept coming over to where I was working and reached over me to measure the shelving, putting his pits 6 inches from my face as I was kneeling down dealing with wiring. I almost stabbed his tallywhacker with with my large flat head screwdriver. I was about a minute away from going to the van to grab some body spray and lighting the mf'er up. It was so bad that even after he left the room, walking back into the room it hit you in the face like a old school Tyson uppercut. I told the client to light some candles. He walked in the room and immediately let out a "UHHHHHHHHHH".

SO, how can someone not know they stink so bad? Or do they just not care? I think the last time this guy took a shower, Brendon actually drove a 3 pedal mini.

My wife works at Chase bank...Every single day she comes home with stories of how bad people stink...On more than one occasion throughout the day they'll have to "FeBreeze" the entire branch...

Mind you my wife is standing behind floor to ceiling bullet proof glass, with a small slot for a transaction....and the people stink so bad she can smell it..

It's hilarious.

I get the same way around smokers and their stank. Part of the job.

Hey Mario, I think this one is for you...

OK, that’s a joke. I ask the same think almost every day. But it’s usually not on the job site. Most days before I go home, I stop by my friend’s gun and pawn shop and hang out. Some of his pawn customers stink so bad, it’s indescribable. I went by one saturday with my son to sell scout popcorn (btw, popcorn is still available if any of you want to help support a group of young boys in need) and a couple guys came in that smelled so bad, when I got home, I changed and took another shower. I swear to all that is holy, their stench transferred to the clothes o was wearing.

I don’t know how some people live with theirselves. If I work a rough in in the heat of summer, at the end of the day, I don’t want food or sleep before I’ve had a shower and clean clothes.

Olfactory fatigue

The body becomes desensitized to stimuli to prevent the overloading of the nervous system, thus allowing it to respond to new stimuli that are 'out of the ordinary'.

I was hired at this electrical company and worked there for 30 days... 30 loooonnngggg smelly days.

The electricain I worked with was the same way with the body odor as well as super bad breath.

It was so freakin bad that even my farts started to smell like this stinky ass.

I was so relieved when they let me go. Unemployment was a far better option than that place.

Other then homeless people I think my worst encounter with the stank was on a job at a beachfront house in Malibu.

Went across the street from the job to a gas station to grab a drink. As soon as I walked in the little store area I was almost knocked over by the overpowering stench of armpit. There were two people in there besides me, the clerk and a stunning brunette wearing a white bikini with a sarong (sp) wrapped around her waist.

The girl walked up the counter and was paying for her stuff. While I waited (holding my breath), the girl started speaking to the clerk in broken English with a very strong French accent. As soon as she paid and walked out, the armpit smell dissipated. I walked up to the counter and the clerk glanced out the window at her walking away, did the universal stinky gesture (waving his hand in front of his nose) and shook his head.

How a beautiful, otherwise well kept woman doesn't notice (or care) that she can stank up an entire room and offend both a construction worker and a gas station employee is beyond me.
I am a trained professional..... Do not attempt this stunt at home.

A lot of people believe that deodorant causes cancer, especially the antiperspirants that are aluminum based.

Who knows, not worth the stank and offending people around me. Does this make me a liberal? 😬🤣

Worked in Beverly Hills on Little Santa Monica Blvd. Across the street there's a park about 150 feet deep that runs about a half mile along the boulevard. A guy who was pretty knowledgeable about audio and video lived there. He used to come visit. After a dozen or so visits, we had to tell him we couldn't deal with the stink. He didn't come back.

California's 1994 earthquake was centered under a trailer park (wouldn't ya just know it) in Van Nuys. I did some reassembly work for a woman there who described life at the epicenter. Nobody got a shower for about two weeks. They were all okay with one another (olfactory fatigue, indeed!) but the emergency workers wouldn't come closer than about ten feet because of the smell.

I lived in an area populated by a number of people from an overseas area... same thing. I worked on and off in Saudi Arabia with expat workers who were poorly paid and lived in converted truck shipping containers. Some of them were quite aromatic!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Obviously some people from all walks of life have odor issues but this is what i have found in my experience...Eastern European guys always smell like body odor and cologne. Pakistan/Indian guys smell like body odor and strong food/spices. Muricans that stink usually smell like cigarettes and bad breath.
