Im redoing the backyard and I am building a shed. From there I would like to have the shed "porch" light and backyard lights tied into my caseta system. Problem is I dont think I can reach it since the house is brick and not even my wifi signal reaches outside.

I would really like to prevent pulling 3 lines from inside the house out to the shed. Ill be running a cat6 out for an AP. I dont think I can use another caseta base station as a repeater can I?

I have a lamp dimmer upstairs that is acting as a repeater so that nixes being able to put one by a window.

I guess worst case is I could get another "pro bridge" and tie it to a different email.

Didn't we figure out at one point that we can use multiple pro bridges with 1 C4 account?
You can try APD to see if it works better, or use EA1 as a seperate director. You know that you want to put another Frame TV in that shed.
Or use Ring floodlight thingy and get a backyard view and the light -- two birds, one stone and all that.

no limit to how many pro bridges you can tie into C4, if I can avoid purchasing another pro bridge for outside then that would be ideal, but not the end of the world since caseta/c4 is seamless integration. Would be way easier then running 2 separate lines from my lighting panel, considering the length of wire out there would end up being cheaper to use a dedicated pro bridge!

LOL!

You know RA2 Select is available now, you don't have to do Caseta anymore.
Time for a tax write off to update your demo/training system :)

I’ve got to take Brendon’s side on this. Caseta is dirt cheap, as solid as Ra2, and quicker and easier to get working. The only issue is the 32 device limitation. And with Ra2 he would have the same problem with range. The difference is that for a couple hundred bucks, he could add a wired extender in the shed.

The new RA2 Select is just like Caseta!
You get to use RA2 switches instead of the ugly Caseta ones. 100 device limit. Programs with the app, just like Caseta. Not available thru big box stores. And can be upgraded to regular RA2 by simply changing the main repeater box(s).
The additional cost of the RA2 switches, is the only drawback. But for a small starting system, that doesn't amount to that much.

Lol Ra2 select is the biggest joke to hit our industry since HDMI. You guys are funny, yes caseta is limited to its self, but with a control system at the helm it literally does everything Ra2 can do and more.

I have a distributor where I can get 3 Caseta switches for the cost of one Ra2 Switch, AT DEALER! Yes they are fuggly, but they are perfect for ancillary rooms like my shed or garage. I am using the UPB 16 switch panel at my house as a poor mans lighting panel. My original intent was to use C4 panelized lighting but then I realized just how cheap I could do my lighting, it’s a no brainer.

In the areas that matter I’m using C4 lighting and keypads. The integration is flawless, you would have absolutely no idea I was using caseta for most of my loads.

Thanks to caseta I have been killing it with lighting control lately. Can’t tell you how many lamp dimmers have turned into full blown C4 lighting. All caseta is is ra2 with software blocks in place, and fuggly switches. Behind that panel is the exact same switch as a RA2 switch. Very frustrating that Lutron chooses to not give us integrators a “caseta” priced or close to it RA System. What’s worse is if a client has already invested in caseta you have to rip it all out and resell them ra2 switches. Just plain stupid.

That was kind of the point, with Select you don't have to rip anything out. And start with a more feature rich system.

But getting the Caseta switches at 1/3 the price of RA2 switches is significant. My distributors are about the same price as you can find on amazon.com. So it would seem you are getting a hell of a deal on Caseta switches - much cheaper than I can get them for.
That then would be enough to support your argument with Caseta.

Take a cheap line, add a control system and now it can do more, WOW add money to make it do what other systems already do

Its a no brainer because its your house? or a client? you would do this in a clients house? poor man's lighting panel? your target market is poor men?

Why would you mix. just because of cost?

Killing it? Making more money than if you had sold one RA2 system for every 4 caseta jobs?
Or do you mean because you install caseta, you also get to add thousands in control4 to the project?

Lutron frustrates you because they dont give integrators a DIY priced solution. Damn near every manufacturer in this space must piss you off

You sell clients a non expandable non upgradable lighting system. but its clients fault if they invested? Do you hate the people who spend money with you?

Is selling a Lighting system meant for integrators too hard for you to sell in your market?  I understand that markets vary across the country but are you just not having the right skill set to sell a step up product?

Ra2 Select addresses the issues of expandability and upgradabilty and is a little lower cost then RA2 but its the biggest joke in our industry?

Do you drink a lot?
