Just found out this is a designer-driven installation. Someone showed the client pictures of "flangeless" speakers with grilles that just stick on the front of the speaker. Client says "that's what I want." Sheesh. How scientific. How promising of great fidelity.

A look at the Sonance model (VP65R SST XT) seems to show that it's what the client had in mind. Do any of the other models you've suggested seem to fit this bill?

Huh, a speaker with magnetic grill and no bezel. Who in their right mind would make one of those.

For Ernie, that is called a frameless grill and MOST speakers are now offered in frameless
