Just wondering if any of you guys have used them, how you've used them, what you've used them with, and how you feel about their performance, pros/cons, ins/outs, whatever.

They have been great, work as advertised. I've used the eyeball looking one for temp, motion and light as well as a few door and flood sensors.

What do they integrate with?

I'm asking because the company I work for used them in early versions of our proprietary leak detection system. We have at least 3000 of them out and about in units (condo) that we've installed in. We're going to be replacing them, though, with our own designed sensors (that seem to be working better so far as the functionality we need goes) and it would be a real shame to just throw them all in the trash. Talk about a waste of money! We only use the flood sensors. I know they also monitor other things like temperature as well though.

I assume he's talking about the Z-Wave enabled ones?

That is correct sir. At least that's what I'm talking about...maybe you were referring to Bob.

Well somethin obvious just crossed my mind...since we install 2GIG security systems I'm sure we could find some use for some of them that way. That integrates with the Crestron systems we install, so....

Of course I'm not proposing that we sell anyone used equipment. Maybe we could throw a few of 'em to select clients with 2GIG systems as acts of *insert descriptor here*. It could be a good way to "test" them for possible sale in the future at residential sites.

Anything else ya think?

One thing to keep in mind is that battery powered Z-Wave units cannot provide you any information until something actually happens (or they come up one of their, fairly widely spaced, wakeup intervals.) So, if you cycle the automation system for some reason, you can't get any information from the sensor. It could be a number of hours using the typically configured default wakeup period before the automation system can see the state of the sensor, or unless it changes state before then and reports that state change.

So if it was already in 'run away or die' state when the automation system comes up, you won't know that. Or if you need the temperature info it provides in some logic, or other thing like that, then that logic will fair or do the wrong thing until such time.

That's a particular annoying thing about Z-Wave battery powered devices.

Yes we use the Z-wave sensors usually with URC total control. I've also installed some with just Z-wave controllers without a control system and for some that is just fine.

Fibaro is a big integration partner of RTI. Using RTI's ZW-9 Z-Wave gateway, you can control anything that has been certified by the Z-Wave Alliance. For a complete list of devices see here: https://products.z-wavealliance.org

Once discovered and imported using the ZW-9 it basically builds a driver for you which can be easily implemented into the programming.

They are a partner for URC too, you can order them from URCs commerce site if you are a direct dealer. I think they cater to the control systems companies.
