What did you not like about the service?

For me, I couldn’t stand listening, rather trying to listen, to a talk station and it going out due to whatever. Most of the time was a physical blockage of trees or a hill. But there were times when it was a clean shot to the sky and still got a patches where the audio cuts out.

When I called to cancel. The rep literally asked me if I had tried the online station as that could have a better reception.

Cutting out was one issue. The other is over the last year or two they got rid of the hosts and shows I preferred.

I have not had many issues with Sirius. Works great in both my Kia's, Online streaming is good. I call them Once a year to cancel my service.... and end up renewing for about 1/2 price... in about 20 minutes. Works for me.

Thing is, in the cities or immediately around it. SiriusXM works great. All because of the land base antennas they have. But when you get out into the country, then the land base antennas goes away. As well as the awesome reception.

For me, that is my entire day.

That's interesting, around here, in my wife's MDX we never have a dropout when out of town, never, they must have a stronger signal in the center of the country.

It is, but in many cities they have put up terrestrial repeaters. Get in rural areas with lots of trees or mountains, and they can block out the signal

They have 32 million subscribers at with an average payment of $13.22 per month. I don't think they are hurting too bad. They aren't going anywhere as long as Stern is still there.

That could very well be the reason.

On my daily trip from Ledyard, CT to Middletown, CT. About an hour drive one way. About 5 minutes of it was dropped. Most lasting 1 to 2 seconds, some up 20 seconds.

I wonder how many of that 32 million are the free accounts provided by auto manufactures? I’m thinking that those are not generating revenue, could be wrong, but just there in hopes to hook you in when the trial ends.

I agree, when Stern’s contract end, many people will cancel.

Another reason I was already planning to call to cancel (and try to get a better price), they sent out letters saying there is another price increase in November.

Also, I read once that their subscriber number is highly inflated. It includes numbers like every new car sold with a free trial plan. Also they try to hide number of lost subscribers.

Hmm, I have drove from the middle of the Rockies to both Phoenix and Vegas several times without a single drop.

Just try to imagine the issues that may come up with distributing XM in a large hospital. 30+ receivers.

Now that SiriusXM is available on the Apple CarPlay... I may just renew my subscription and use it through there. Besides, on demand is there too.

For some reason I get promos in the mail for cars I no longer own from siriusxm.
The current one might help you hate them less. 5$ per month for a year, includes Howard. For the price of most people’s starbucks tab per month, you get a full year...hope it works for you. URL is:
