I looked at a projector today for a client in which the projector orange lamp light is flashing twice. In the manual, it shows the lamp light would be solid orange if the lamp needs replacing. The lamp was replaced with an OEM lamp in August.

I called JVC and they were not helpful. They suggested trying a factory reset by unplugging it and tapping the standby button 5 times quickly and plugging back in. That didn't do anything. Does anyone more familiar with JVC projectors know if the lamp light blinking twice is an indication of some other issue or simply needs a new lamp. Being that JVC wasn't that helpful, I told the client we can bring a new lamp in, and if it is not he issue we will have to send the projector out and the newer lamp can just be a spare for the future.

I know that if the air filter on a JVC is dirty it will act funny. That's all I have.
Hey, careful man, there's a beverage here!

I have had two of them do that (JVC RS series, not the same exact model).
In both cases it was an internal board failure. After many phone calls I found a JVC service center and they told me that the board is on backorder (at least it was as of last year) with no concrete date for new ones being available.

In both cases the homeowners elected to just replace the projectors. One didn't work at all, the other one would turn on when it felt like it and required a hard reset whenever it wouldn't power up.
I am a trained professional..... Do not attempt this stunt at home.

I went through a few of these too and customers ended up replacing the projectors instead of trying to repair units that were a few years old.  I think this vintage of JVC projectors were problematic.  I think I installed 3-4 of them and all lived a relatively short life (2-3 years) before developing problems.

We pretty much used JVC exclusively for many years, every single projector is still working perfectly, some 10+ years on.

I've generally had good luck with JVC projectors too and still use them, but they had some specific models that had problems with the boards.  I looked back at two that I could remember and they were both DLA-RS40U models installed around 2012-2014.  I had 1-2 more that might have been slightly different model numbers but installed in the same 2-3 year time span and none of them lasted longer than three years.

The symptom was solid red "Warning" and "Standby" indicators with the Lamp indicator giving two short flashes in orange which sounds exactly like the symptoms Golden is reporting.

I ran into a customers JVC projector doing similar (flashing orange LED, wouldn't power up etc.) New lamp, filter cleaning, factory default, etc didn't fix.

Eventually was advised to do factory reset and firmware update/reload using a JVC utility. This fixed it (took a couple tries.) and as far as I know its been working for 6+ months w/out issue. Was for previous employer, so I don't have the emails/notes to confirm model/details but worth a shot.
