The pitch is "im selling it cheap because its stolen". Its the same pitch that faux jewelry "dealers" hit you with. If your greed allows you to buy stolen goods then you deserve getting burned by the white van scam.

As much as I enjoy seeing a white van scam get called out, the guy did seem kind of like a bitch. Especially when he went, “I could have totally kicked his ass but didn’t want to”

Was thinking the same thing. I don’t think It would have turned out well for him.

I have a problem with thieves in general.

I spend my life going out of my way to help others but this crosses the line that brings out the side of me that you don't want to see.
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Other then adding annoying sound effects to the video, how was he being a bitch? I would have been way nastier. The guy is nothing short of a thief, out there with the sole purpose of scamming someone.

When I still did car audio, I worked for a company that had about 6 stores and sold white goods, small electronics, furniture, AV, etc. One day, I drove a car to the front parking lot and was approached by two guys in a white van for this and they got about ten seconds into their spiel before I asked "Can you not see what's on my shirt?". It was the company logo. I told them to leave or I'd call the police.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."

The title of the video says "knowledgeable dude shuts down....". It should say "former white van scammer gets pissy with a current white van scammer".

In the video around 2 minute mark he says "I actually did this about ten years ago in West Palm Beach...its a good hustle".

You know Bjorn? From Bjorns in San Antonio? Someone white-vanned him, claiming the products were old inventory from ... Bjorns.

Funny how its always the same story " excess inventory", "boss ordered to many", "mishipped and we received more than we needed". Um, ok, ever hear of return authorizations? Must not be worth returning the projector to get their $40 back they paid for it lol.

When i lived in Chicago i ran into a different group every other week. The pitch is that the distributor made a huge mistake and gave them too many pairs of speakers or projectors etc. They didn't pay for it. The boss/company doesn't know they (the white van "installers") have it etc etc. Classic "its your lucky day because i want to move it cheap/fast because its stolen".

Just ran across my first "White Van" scenario. Guy gets our name from a friend and he wants us to install a projector he just bought from "a guy". Apparently this guy is a great friend who would never screw him. He's a bar owner and friends with this guy who sold the product. It's a "Locus" 4K projector, a Caymen 5.1 home theater system, and 72" screen. He paid $3k for that!!! WTF!!!

This guy already had a 7.1 speaker system in the ceiling and a Klipsch sub (new in the box) which the builder provided.

He's trying to return and is convinced he didn't get ripped off! Um dough-k. I told him I've been doing this for 15 years now and have never even heard of any of this crap. Not to mention, who the hell would want a 72" screen!?!? LOL
