Also, will the one connect box fit into an 8 1/2 x 14 wall box?

I've done 55" and 65" frame TV's. Their One Connect boxes will not fit in an 8.5"x14". It just fits EXACTLY diagonally in a 14"x14" box.

The new one connect is huge. It’s about 3” thick. But it also must run hot now (it does House the power supply for the TV) because it is vented. So be careful about where you hide it.

The diagonal of a 14" square box is just under 20." Talk about huge! The One Connect box will be slightly smaller than this, but it's in that neighborhood.

It might be helpful for future ideas in this thread if someone could measure the one connect box and tell us what the dims are. They might not all be identical for all models, so we'd want to know what model's box you measured.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

This is from Oct. 2017 on 65" Frame TV
If there are new boxes, I haven't seen or used them yet.

The new one may have been with the frame last year but is now on all of the models that use a one connect

I've done a few with the new box now, but have been able to use the longer 15M cable and place them into nearby racks.

I believe you have the luxury of working on long term projects which enables you to plan ahead while walls are open and add conduit. On quick in and out one day jobs, you'd have to go without conduit. I would not even attempt to put their cable in the wall without conduit.

Samsung engineers really seem to have no grasp on reality. At the very least, the TV's should have 1 HDMI input on the TV. Use the One Connect for more inputs or a HDMI switch.

I have put 2 or 3 on regular and articulating arms. It’s a lot easier to deal with the one Connect behind tv with an arm.

I was going to try that, and then I thought oh fun, then I get to send optical back to the sound bar under the TV…

I don’t really see the point of the frame if it has a sound bar right under it.

The new one connect box does not fit diagonally, not even close. I am scrambling for a solution. This will make me think twice before I do the next one.

This would require about 18” open space one way.

How new?  I did it last month and it fit fine.  That was a 65" frame tv.  If they have gotten even bigger, I will be telling clients that we will either be steering them towards other tvs, or will be charging them a premium for install, as it will require getting a conduit in and then pulling their longer proprietary wire through it.  Also a disclosure that we will not be responsible for any damage to the wire.  Samsung is fv%$^ insane for creating this beautiful TV and clever idea and pairing it with a wire that will break if you sneeze in its direction and a input box as wide as the TV itself.  I swear they are sitting over there in Korea saying "stupid americas" as they laugh their way to the bank.
