I might have an installation where the Frame TV would have to be installed over recessed area.
TV will cover the recessed 'hole'.
Outside of me installing 2"x6" backer framing members in a nicely finished wall/alcove, which is not ideal, I would like to know if regular VESA mount can be natively married to the frame TV's mount.

Anyone tried it yet?

I'm willing to take my own TV down to try it, but wanted to know if anyone's done it.

According to this document, the TV has a 400x400 vesa mounting pattern.

Good friend of mine installed one at his own home.  I haven't seen it and had nothing to do with it...He's not a CI, but a distributor...He installed himself..He called my confused as to what he should do with some sort of proprietary "fiber" cable that comes with it...He wasn't happy when he called.  But he does love the TV.

I'm not sure I understand?
Most of these ultraflat TVs come with external box (which I hate).
Connection between display and connection box (OneConnect in Samsung vocabulary) is over proprietary cable.

Not sure why he's confused as there are only 2 connections on the TV -- 1 is for power and the other is this connector.
There are no other HDMIs, coax, ethernet, audio or USB plugs on display.

I wish this 15m cable had smaller connector on it.

In my great room, I'm setup for up to 5 TVs and have 1" conduit to equipment stack some 30-50' away.
Would be nice to remotely locate the one connect.

Fiber is tiny at 0.07" but the connector is huge. Another epic failure on MFG design front.

Mario,

Have you tried through the 1" conduit yet?  I've run them through 1.25" Carlon ResiGard (smurf tube) very easily...  Have a couple jobs to trim out in the next 2-6 months that have 1" conduit and was hoping to get the Samsung connector through the 1" but not sure if it's going to be possible.

I have not.
If you need me to, I can pull my TV down and try it.

Nice of you Mario to offer that! But, dont, I have one sitting in a box. I will find a 1" conduit and check that out. Its pretty wide. Like the Samsung rep said "Samsung loves their proprietary connectors!"

I think the cable spec shows the connector as 1.09" so if that's correct it's not going to go through a 1" conduit without modification.  I'm down for trying to modify or remove the connector shell if it can be done without destroying the cable.

What mounts are you using? I have an irregular wall where flush may be a headache or worse.

Would an ordinary slim mount be just as effective?

Thanks!
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

What manufacturer other than Samsung is using an external box currently?  I have not seen any except for the One Connect boxes.
