This is kind of nicely done.

If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.

Generic, but nice. Might help speed up the budget determination for those people that say "I want the best".

It seems they work out the following on average (roughly):

1. Structured Wiring: $4 per sq ft
2. Audio: roughly $1,500 per zone
3. Video: $4k per TV if distributed; $1,500 per TV if local sources
4. Cameras: $1k per camera
5. Lighting: $6 per sq ft

Some of these numbers seem high to me, and others seem low. Of course, there are a lot of variables.
If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.

I like it.

Who is this organisation and why haven't I heard of them before?

How much is the application/certification fee?

They only recently launched. Doesn't seem like they have much traction, yet.

According to CEPRO, certification is $400 plus a monthly fee that's as much as $150/month.

Really nicely done and what many of us have been clamoring for years. Something with some rigor from a certification point of view. CEDIA doesn't do it because it simply says you paid the fee and/or you have a least on set of hands that is trained. This seems to evaluate the organization more holistically. I hope it works. We are investigating.
Jack Rainey - Full disclosure...reformed integrator, now mid-Atlantic manufacturers rep for: Integra, Paradigm, Anthem, Parasound, Atlona, LG TV's and Metra Home Theater...among others

I looked into pricing also.
I think it should be a sliding scale based on size of company.
As a 1 man shop im not paying 150.00 per month. No way.

If you want to start a trade organization then look at other successful organizations and figure out why they were successful. Offer services to members that benefit their business. For example, NAHB offers discounts on liability insurance and continuing ed programs for their members to meet licensing requirements. Just providing members a sticker to put on their vans is not enough.
Civil War reenactment is LARPing for people with no imagination.

Is it the organization that you find interesting? or the form itself?

If it's the form, something similar could be customized and added to any of your sites fairly easily.

If it's the organization, what are they offering to do for you?  If you haven't heard of them, I have serious doubts that a homeowner has.  So, what are they offering?  They created a hub that lists "certified installers", but if their website doesn't get traction what good is it? When you do a search for "Home Technology Installer" they don't even show up on the first page.

I thought the form was done fairly nicely.

Jury is out on the organization itself. They're new. Let's see if they get traction.

At those prices they're not getting my business.
