Need a new pair of work boots.
Had a nice pair of timberlands and was working on landscape system and stepped in some super wet clay soil, which turned out to be more like quicksand and ripped the sole right off one boot. So need some replacement boots for outdoor and maybe even for pre-wire phase in reno/new construction.

Seems like all the tradesman around here wear Georgia Boot "Romeo" slip-ons. For working in landscape jobs, I like Bogs.

Danner. I personally wear the quarry model. Stitched sole Think I paid $200 7 years ago I've been through over a dozen pairs of work boots in the last 8 years. I am very hard on boots due to the conditions I work in. The boots constantly get wet and I kneel down quite a bit. I generally buy hiking boots due to the amount of walking I do and the availability of waterproof hiking boots. I've had quite a few pairs of timberland boots, along with a pair of vasque, columbia and merrills. The most recent pair was the Danner GTX 453. I'm finishing my second season with these. The pair of merrills I bought this spring are already in the garbage. I just bought a new pair of Danner GTX 453's and will likely keep buying them. I also have a pair of Danner insulate leather pronghorns, which are awesome as well. CN: plus one for Danner

I hate boots. Too heavy. But, if you are going to spring for Redwing or Georgia Boot, spend the extra and get the American Made ones. A lot of people assume all of their products are still US made and buy some of the lesser quality imports they have stamped their names on.

Red Wing, nothing else. What that guy said. There is no better boot. I wore a pair of Danner's out west hunting.. I'll never do that again. Here's the perfect model for a CI like you. Notice those sweet ass shoe laces. They're hard to find, just call your local RW shoe store and have them order them in. [Link: redwingshoes.com]

I wear Thorogoods. Very comfortable right out of the box and they are made in U.S.A. Different options for shank and toe. [Link: weinbrennerusa.com]

I always hear good things about Red Wing. Personally I like a cowboy style boot more though. Have worn Justin's and Ariat. They are rugged and last forever, but recently settled on Durango Rebels. They are like a tennis shoe version of a western boot. Lightweight and super comfortable. I wear them every day all day and have no complaints at all. Plus they are waterproof.
