Did a search but there's nothing recent.

Since im downsizing my truck I need to find a ladder solution.
On my old truck I used to carry a 6' step and a 4' step inside and 8', 12' steps and a 20' extension on top.

With the new truck I cant even have a 6' step unless I just throw it in and let it bounce around. I like to be organized so I cant do that.

In the past I wasn't a fan of the multi use ladders because they were heavy and the latches were annoying.
I checked out the current offerings from gorilla, werner, little giant, etc and just ordered one of these:

It's pretty light, has quick release latches and will take care of 90% of what I need so I will carry this in my new truck.

Im also going to order one of these for the times I know i'll need something bigger (model 17) and i'll just throw it in the truck for the day:

Anyone have experience / review on these newer little giants?

Just remember, the model is the length of the segments laid end to end, not the usable height. The M17 is about 14'-10". I bought a Werner and saved a bunch.

I like the quick adjustment levers on the little giant.

We picked up a Little Giant Extreme at CEDIA in Denver a few years ago.

Joe, the sales booth guy, made a great deal on his demo ladder + all attachments for 50% discount. Saved freight charges by picking ladder up the following week here locally, after Joe finished working a home show at the Astrohall.

Best ladder ever, didn't care for its weight at first, but it is super stable and works great doing ceiling work, especially installing Sonance 8" speakers using the deck attachment. Ratchet leg adjustments are a cool feature when you need them. All aluminum locking parts/handles instead of plastic like the other models.

the 22ft unit is the one I have had since April 1985. Best tool I have ever owned. About 43lbs. Stay away from the 26ft as it is two much for just one person. If I had to save money I might consider Werner, but I have found when you buy cheap, you get cheap. I would avoid the Amazon stuff

The Werner is cheaper, not cheap. Mine has been holding me up for about 15 years, if not longer.

Aluminum/metal ladders can be an OSHA issue. The Dark Horse line has fiberglass rails and is a better bet. More $, but same advantages as a regular LG.

I wondered about that too when this thread came up.  The only guys working on aluminum ladders around here are painters.  I've only seen OSHA onsite a couple times in my career, but some of the contractors I work for are very safety conscious and keep a close eye on everything safety related including ladders and ladder safety.

I have a childhood friend that was electrocuted using an aluminum ladder to change a light bulb in his back yard.  Told his wife he was going to change the bulb quickly while she was cooking dinner and never came back.  Had a 1.5 year old daughter at the time so it's not just a myth that bad stuff can happen with aluminum ladders.
