Anyone have any experience with interfacing these two? ... I'm using Lutron's RS-232 piece to communicate with the OmniProII ... I've been able check the status of the the switches but I can't get them to respond to commands ... Ideas??? ....

You may have good luck on the Worthington Distribution bulletin board. Moderator Tom Morgan knows everything there is to know about HAI and Omni.

Are U using the HAI FW 2.7 Kit? You must also UG your PC Access SW to the latest version.
If you are using RS232 I can help. These are two of my favorite HA devices. Have done it plenty of times.

Yes I'm using version 2.7 of the firmware and version 2.7 on the PC access software ... I am getting some communication between the Lutron RS232 and the OmniProII because I'm able to see status of the light switches, but they won't respond to on/off commands .... I am hooked to the on-board serial port (it says in the update you can use the on-board ports) ....

Sorry i still have not UG to the built-in RA support yet. (You know the old adage-The cobbler's kids have no shoes.....etc.)
We started testing UPB in our Beta environment, just because it was out before RA support, & we are currently using UPB on some smaller projects to give it a try.

I was planning on changing over to RA after the first of the year. We are just too busy to accomplish this @ this time of the year. The last RA install we did, I still used good old RS232 interface, just because I have been using it for years & have pre programmed commands in a HAI file.

I had not heard of the On Board ports working. The problem you are having was one of the reasons HAI said to use the Serial Exp board originally. If you have one installed, i would give that a try. Otherwise, I'm sorry to say, you are on your own @ this point until after the holidays. Try Worthington, or HAI support.

If you want to go back to the 'old-school' RS232 way, i would be more than willing to give you some pointers......

Just a follow up ... Got the problem worked out ... Ended up being a missed pinout in the cable ... Once I changed that, the system worked like a champ ... On-board serial port worked (serial interface kit not needed when using the OmniProII) ....
