Mirroring an iPad to a Apple TV last generation.

In the middle of doing a short video, say an ESPN clip, iTunes sharing pops up, saying it needs to be turned on. It's on.

It seems the Apple discussion groups have tons of people with the problem. Cannot find anything definitive that applies. Wonder if any of you may have run into it.

AppleTV updated. Happens on A-TV in Master and family room both.

Internet is Comcast, with an Arris modem, Mikrotik router, and Eero Wi-Fi.
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Sounds like an apple problem.

You hit ok and then it continues to work right?

I've been experiencing the same issue.

I've been experiencing it prior to the recent updates...In my case, it seems the updates have made it better, but it's still an issue.

Now and again, I'll unplug modem/router and apple tv(s) 3rd and 4th gen, and let reboot...

It seems to fix the issue for awhile.   (sometimes).

Frustrating as hell.

I try to prep clients that mirroring is not trouble free. Not bad for a slideshow or occasional web browsing. But even if you tell them don't count on it for videos they may still want it to work.

That being said, it seems to work pretty reliably when we've done it at my house. Oh well.
