The main repeater is what lets the keypads and the dimmers talk to each other. I've not used the RS-232 module, but that may be able to act as the main repeater. A Chronos can act as the repeater as well.

The main repeater has to recognize all the dimmers, switches, and controls before they can do anything other than control a single load.

Well, I’m back on site this morning and the keypads won’t go into programming mode. I’ve pressed and held the 1st and 5tih buttons for about 10 seconds and nothing.

Any ideas? I hate calling Lutron

Found an old “quick reference card”. Holding 2 & 4 until the keypad flashes gets you into programming mode, ie. assign controls to buttons. 1 & 5 is for “level capture”.

I want to copy scenes from the RA-rs232 Controller. The instructions said 1 & 5.

Like I say, you need to find the repeater. RAR-RS-232 is not a repeater. If the repeater is unplugged, nothing is going to work other than single switches or dimmers controlling single loads.

Ra keypads will work without a repeater. Sometimes a little slow to respond but will work fine once programmed, as long as they are in range of each other. They will also go into programming mode even if a repeater isn't present.

What happens if you hold the 2nd and 4th buttons?
