Deploying a system and of course the update drops before I’m prepared for it. So short of stumbling through the new app (horrible) client reads a headline saying echo is integrated. Rather then coming back I went ahead and activated the skill.
Ohhh boy, for a company that prides it’s self on making things work out the gate they dropped the ball on this one. Wow, it’s bad, hardly works. Doesn’t know whether to play on the echo or Sonos even after saying “on living room” it is not natural at all.
Heads up, you have to use the Canned rooms in Sonos, even though Alexa finds manually entered rooms she does not respond to it.
Also, grouping doesn’t work AND Spotify integration does not work for a few more weeks. Also don’t forget to integrate the services on both Sonos AND echo.

I keep getting an error on my phone and I can't update...stupid iPhone 8 and iOS 11. :(

WTF...why is updating the app a problem. Now when I go to enable the skill, it says I need to login to my Sonos account. Once I login, it says i need to manage it or transfer it. There is no explanation of why I need to do this. I click on Manage and it has all of our pieces for the showroom. Not sure why I can't enable. This is stupid. Why is this difficult? I thought they wanted to work out the bugs, and I can't get it going on my showroom floor...very annoyed. Especially since I have already had several people call want to get the Alexa thing going. Glad they are advertising in this in the app too.

Beware of duplicate device names. For example, if you have an Alexa enabled light switch named "Kitchen" and a Sonos player named "Kitchen", Alexa is not so sure which to address. "Kitchen Sonos" would be a reasonable room name.
One cannot build Groups, but if you mention a room that is a member of a Group, you can start play in that Group.

It is beta. They have said so. Read the normal sized print buddy.
Or choose not to talk to your speakers and just use the app. I am not on the voice control wagon. At least not yet.

I saw the Depot article earlier and just went through updating both apps and setting up Sonos/Alexa before seeing this thread. On a positive note, they just made the dish network skill look good.

Is it just me or is favourites gone from the app. I hope this doesn’t affect favourite buttons on my customers’ RTI control panels.
