Using the Control Panel in iOS 11 to turn off WiFi or Bluetooth doesn't actually turn them off. And, that's how Apple wants it to be.

If it's not simple, it's not sufficiently advanced.

Wow, that is BS.

I bet some somewhat security minded folks will ban Iphones from the workplace as a result.

Also: I have carplay in my truck and I typically plug it in. If bluetooth is on at the same time, my stereo tries to connect to both simultaneously. That makes calls and music garbled.

And if I am in an area with marginal wifi, my phone will drain the crap out of the battery trying to maintain a connection.

When I turn stuff off, I want it off.
I am a trained professional..... Do not attempt this stunt at home.

You can shut them off.  You can't shut them off from the control center.  You have to do it in settings, that's all.

I ”love” how the media thinks they are the only ones to notice things.

Andrea Barisani, a security researcher and one of a few people to notice this change, said in a Twitter direct message that the new user interface is not obvious at all and makes the user experience more "uncomfortable."

I knew about this feature months ago in beta. At first I wasn’t happy about it, there again I rarely turn either of them off. But as time went on, it didn’t bother me. However, in some cases it could be great. Like when my home internet went down due to a tree taking out the cable line. Of course my iPhone stayed on my WiFi. So I toggled that button and it disconnected from my WiFi. It then used LTE for data. When I would leave the house and come back, had to be a mile or more trip. It would reconnect to my WiFi. Sure I had to flip it off again, but when the cable line was fixed it was pretty cool to have it auto connect.

However, I am very upset that Apple took away the extra keyboard buttons on the Plus model iPhones when in landscape mode. I liked the cut and paste, bold, italic and such just a press away. Now I have to go find them.
