Eero or Netgear Orbi with SONOS in SONOSNet Mode?

I have an existing client with a 4 zone SONOS setup. One Play 1 near the center of the home is connected by wire to their single Spectrum-provided all-in-one modem/router/access pointr to establish SONOSNet.

They have been using this single Wi-Fi router to cover their entire home, but continue to experience Wi-Fi drop-outs to clients in the most distant [and primary] usage zone. There is no structured wiring in the home and no reasonable opportunity to add it, so I'm investigating new mesh networking products to solve the problem.

SONOS tech support says either the Eero or Netgear Orbi systems should work fine with a SONOSNet deployment. Can either of you comment generally about your success with either of the these Wi-Fi products and/or specifically about success with SONOSNet deployments?

TIA

I just set up Orbi in my own home this weekend to try out.
No issues with Sonos so far and I have 14 Sonos zones with 1 hard wired.

I've used Eero with Sonos. In one case the Sonos system was not in a location that could be wired and I used DSL --> Eero <-wireless-> Eero --> BOOST <-wireless-> SonosNet.

With any of these Mesh systems, place a node about halfway between the previous node and an area you want to cover. And, if you have the opportunity to set transmit power, don't necessarily go for the max because you could create a situation where the client sees a nice signal from the access point, but the client is actually out of range and does not have enough power to transmit back to the access point.

I just did my 1st Eero system but didn't transfer service yet. After you transfer do you then loose access to the customers site, etc? or are you still able to pull it up in the app?

if you did it through the pro account you transfer it out and you can access the system from your pro-portal! If you just used your email without have a pro account then you will loose access.

Not to mention with eero there will be a web based portal to manage all your client networks, poe and mounting bracket as well in the near future. Eero > orbi

Thanks for the useful info, guys. I noted that BB has Eero for sale on "clearance..." Should I anticipate a soon-to-arrive new model?

Are they the first Gen units? If so they're OK but I wouldn't bother buying them.
The second generation is much better.

I knew about the POE and mounting bracket,. However, I find it amazing that info isn't on the Pro portal now as a coming soon or something. The Pro site is bare.

The web based portal would be great. I'm assuming stuff like Eero Plus is all $$ to Eero and nothing that comes back to the integrator that offers it to the client as an added service.

Eero has been fine with several Sonos installs. Even basic single controller Control4 projects. Each unit only has 2 ethernet ports, so generally you'll need to add a switch at the main unit.

As to pricing, there are 3 kits currently out there; the original, the gen 2, and the gen 2 pro.

Any insight as to what “Reseller permit number” as requested on sign up is? EIN#?
