Well, after thinking about it some more, I may be cheating a bit. I've set iTunes on my Apple TVs to SD, for two reasons. Most movies are a little cheaper, but more importantly, the kids can fit more on their iPads when traveling. But, I have the output set to 1080. I forgot that my dish Hopper is set to 720 because it's shared with the bedroom Pioneer plasma.

Something that I had forgotten until thinking about this, after hearing for years how great The Wire was, I tried to watch it on Netflix but couldn't. After about 10 minutes I turned it off because of the 4:3 ratio and very dated look to the PQ. I don't know if it isn't available in HD, or just has an older look. And this reminded me when I have pulled up trailers for older movies and the trailers were still in SD, they were hard to watch.
Civil War reenactment is LARPing for people with no imagination.

Fins, The Wire is must warch TV. Get through the 1st season and it's all wide-screen HD and Dolby Digital for the remainder of the series

A customer gave me the box set of the Wire a few years ago. Guess i need to watch it.
