Ernie, did you make it to CEDIA this year? I just realized that out of all the peeps here and on IP that I've met over the years, I never actually meet you face-to-face.
I'm onto episode 3 of The Oriville. I've decided it's eh. It's a low quality rip off of Star Trek. The jokes are ok, but not strong enough to make it as a sitcom on other networks, and probably not stupid enough to last on Fox.
Civil War reenactment is LARPing for people with no imagination.

Voyager had the best intro, hands down
Oh most definitely!
This is probably the best fan made 4K version of Voyager intro. It’s very original until others out there that is very obviously different.
Here’s the side by side.
Believe it or not, I actually liked Enterprise’s intro too. Except for the last season or 2 where they botched the beat of the song. Yes it had a singer, but for the theme of the series being the first ship to explore space far deeper than before and at warp speeds of 4(5?) at the beginning. I totally understood the singing aspect of it.
For whatever reason, my DVR recorded more of 60 Minutes than of Star Trek Discovery.
But as I watched it, I realized that this series is the first series not to use the voice of Majel Barrett for the computer. Every other series and movies used her voice. Of course in TOS, she sounded the most “computerized”.

Finally got around to watching the first 3 episodes. I like the intro and everything else about it. I like the reality based grit. One of the things that always bothers me with Star Trek and Stargate is the happy go lucky goofiness in between the drama.
My favorite Stargate was SGU because it was dark and serious. All 3 episodes of Discovery are the same. I hope that CBS's strategy to slave fans to their service doesn't cause the show to die prematurely.

Mac, how did you watch the first 3 episodes? Did you give in and pay for cbs streaming? Or find another source?
I had some friends over in the morning who kept talking about it. When they rolled out around 3 i had a few hours before my gf got home from work so i bent over for CBS and got the $6 "some commercials" option and wathed via roku or appletv cant remember which. I watched them back to back.
