Any of you guys Anthem dealers? I have a new MRX 520 with a bad center channel amp out of the box(latest firmware). I just had a client call me that his MRX 720 is making a "funky" sound from the "speaker below the TV". The 720 is still on the factory firmware so it isn't a firmware issue. I got both unit in the same order so I'm guessing they both got the same defective part. How is your experience with Anthem reliability? I am sure their old stuff was great but the new line is made in Vietnam.

I also had a PVA 8 blow one of the channels about 2 years ago.

I haven't sold one in about 3 years. That is because all 3 of the first-gen ones I sold had to be replaced within weeks of installation due to failures.

Somewhat Boutique products like anthem...meh, if you really need an AVR just use a mainstream AVR like Yamaha Aventage and if you need real power use the line outs to amps.

And I thought I was making the right move switching from Integra to Anthem...

Switching away from Integra was probably a good move...
But moving into Yamaha would probably have been a better one...
This industry is not getting cheaper and cheaper, we're simply convincing ourselves that we have to push the cheapest option to customers.

My experience with Anthem is similar to a race car.
It ROCKS when it's running right!

A "daily driver" fit's the needs better for most of my clients however.
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

Proud to say that my property is protected by a high speed wireless device!
