I need to use a few 4K extenders on a job and wondering if I should use Snap or someone else. I don't want issues if I can help it.
The 4K signal will be from a new XBox console, if that matters. A secondary 4K signal will possibly be a DVD player. If they go with a DVD then I'll probably go with a matrix switcher. If that happens then should I trust Snaps 4K matrix switchers??
If not Snap for the above products then what mfg should I use?? Reliability and quality are the most important thing !!!

Why do 2 sources make you need a matrix switch?

Or are you just talking about a hdmi switcher with single output?

For that many sources, I like Atlona's HDVS line, especially the kits with built-in scaler on the receiver. These will give you 1 VGA and 2 HDMI inputs. Controlled by RS232, IP, IR or auto sense. Power supply required at receiver end.

I dont believe Snap matrix switches do 4k. That is why they carry the Altona line.

Use J+P. Super reliable. It works great. It evolves over time, so new features are added in FREE updates. We do tons of J+P 2x4, 3x3, etc. If reliability is very important why are you even considering SnapAV?

Do your clients actually want full 4K with HDR? Because that is a different animal than what most companies 4K hardware can handle.

Idk about your price range but I have used Key Digital and Shinybow without issues. There are also new IP scalable systems where you do not need at fixed matrix that most companies have such as Just Add Power, Shinybow, and Liberty AV. You just buy Receivers for your TVs and Transmitters for your sources.

We can always count on VW for the misguided pot shots. Thanks!

On this same note.....Full 4K w/ HDR (18gbps)... I need a simple 2x1 switcher.....outside of the AVProConnect matrix which is true overkill what other options are there out there.

We have some AVPC gear getting ready to go into a commercial project in a bit. I have not set it up for testing yet, but it looks promising. I will post my thoughts once it goes in......or goes back.......depending on how it fairs in the testing phase. :)

I have AVPROCONNECT AUHD 8X8 MATRIX SWITCH in my house and have it installed in a clients house. It works great without any problems. I have used their extenders without any issues as well. They are small and work great. This is my go to for HDBaseT.
