It's the universe saying you shouldn't go on vacation. I rarely had problems, up until I stepped foot into the airport.

Yup. At a cottage for a week.
Got a text from a client. Install is a month old. Had a power outage and things "aren't working right". And mom is watching my dogs and the smoke alarm on the top floor failed.
Never fails.

Y'all get vacations? A couple years ago I started saying f*** it and taking time off. What really got to me, the person I work for would take at least 4 vacations a year, but I always felt bad doing that because so much relied on my skills. If he's gone for a week, no one notices. If I'm gone for a week, people tell him to leave and come back when I am back at work. I learned that when I fell out of an attic and had a forced week off. After that, I decided TV emergencies can wait.

There have been studies that men live longer healthier lives when they take regular vacations. Long weekends do not count as vacations any more than a working vacation. I try and disappear at least one a year nowadays. I have found the world is still revolving when I get back!!
