I've been trying to do some research on tape lights, but I put more faith in feedback from people here than Amazon reviews and YouTube videos.

A lot of new RVs have LED lighting under the awning or under the camper. I want to add a multi-color version to our camper so I can improve the lighting around the front and pick a color of light that won't attract bugs. A lot of the reviews I read had to do with the strength of the double sided tape for when traveling down the road. But I'm not concerned with that issue. I've found kits from $15 to $150, but can't really find what's the difference. Does anyone have experience with tape lighting?

Environmental lighting would have what you need.  Their products have been used in a lot of my projects and I've also used some at home.  They have weatherproof LED strip lights:

Their stuff will be at the high-end of the price range, but everything they sell is UL listed, has high CRI and very consistent color matching.

I've emailed a buddy in Florida who makes a living doing LED lighting. I'll report back what he's got to say, though he may join up here and join the discussion himself.

Edit:
Oops, he's moved on............

A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

Supposedly, yellow or amber prevents bugs, but if my friend's dock is any indication, they don't. He has only yellow CFL lights and they were caked with bugs when I was there in April.

I don't think yellow CFLs are tinted enough. Aren't they painted glass with white CFL inside? From what I've seen, blue or green LEDs work pretty well.

May I suggest our Heisse brand of LED products, they are designed for the mobile and marine environment.

Can you provide pricing, or should I just use the info on the site?

Just as a suggestion, I would avoid the lights on the awning and mount them in a track under the awning.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.

There is a metal bracket that is about an inch and a half wide that holds the awning to the RV. It would be fine for mounting to. But, I did look at a couple YouTube videos where they used tracks with lens covers, and it did look better.

Sorry.
As is usually the case, I really have no idea about price (not my job).
Call a sales person on Monday (866) 839-9187 and they can provide all data.
