Does this thing have IP Control? I know the 1000 does. If so what driver does one use with Control4? I tried the X1000es driver hoping it would work but it didnt. The old sony IP drivers dont work either.

Thanks!

I've been told by Sony directly that it does not have Wake-on-LAN therefore you might get control of it but you'll end up losing control of it so it's best to do IR.

UGH! thanks...pretty frustrating that a sub $100 blu-ray player can use the old EV driver but a $300 doesn't.

Doesnt seem like any of the other blu-ray player IRs work with it either, im going to have to learn them arent i?

Interesting, the one I tried when they first came out would not respond to any IP commands. They must of pushed an update....

We were told by Sony themselves that this unit was IR only, and that any of our dealers wishing to use serial *or* IP control should specify the 1000ES model.

I would love to hear more about what worked.

Works flawless. It's the 2014 EV Sony driver so it's not sanctioned. I've used this driver for all the <100 Sony players. I had to set renderer on on the player and it worked!

It's why it didn't work at first when I tried it.

They may have updated the subsequent batches before they got on the boat. I just installed one last week and went to update it and it said it was already updated.

The IR emitter placement is very sensitive. I do not like the rocker button for the eject/power. The emitter has to go ON that button it seems.....close to the center. At least that was my experience with an MRF-350.

I wish they would have done Android OS on these. My client complained that there was not a front panel display of any kind. Haha.

I'm currently trying to get the Sony UBP-X800 to work on a Crestron system over IP. There are no modules that I can find that are already made, does anyone have a link to the IP control command protocol for Sony? Can't seem to find them anywhere I was hoping someone here would have what I'm looking for

Thanks!

Let me know if the video goes out- I installed one last week and it worked great while I was there and that evening, the customer let me know that the video to the TV stopped. It's all older equipment, so it was set to drop the resolution to 1080. I had him swap the cables to the BD and Sat receiver, but that didn't help- the Sat did, though.

I installed one last month and it did that. It was stuck on, but the power button wouldn’t turn it off. I had to unplug it from the power and plug it back in, then it did the same thing a few hours later. We ended up taking it back and getting a new one.

I've had my Sony UBP-X800 for awhile now. When I 1st got it, it did this same thing of keep locking up and video dropping out. It also refused to do a firmware update over the internet.

I went to the Sony support site and downloaded the latest/newest firmware onto a USB drive (9/26/2017 - M36.R.0178). Upgraded the unit with that and all has been perfect with the unit ever since (2 months now).
