I need an ip video option that can answer a front entry and open a gate. I've used a few DoorBirds and don't really like the overall quality (thin cheesy connectors, weak motion zone adjustment). I hate to say it but I wish Ring had this option. I've done a few Ring Pros and think they're decent with good motion zone adjustment. Hoping someone has an option........

I will be doing a Logenex Teleport install next week and will report back as to how it works. The house has an existing Logenex Teledoor system and they created a direct replacement IP station, so to the customer nothing looks different on the house but they now get video calls to their smart phones and we can add the camera streams to the surveillance system.
We won't be using the relay control but I know that it does have the capabilities to do this.

I've used mobotix for this and it is working well, even at a very long distance over a 2 conductor. The T25 camera is the main unit, and I think you'd need the keypad module add on for the gate release. The keypad allows you to program in unique user IDs as well as RFID card if you'd like to do that. The T25 has on-board recording to an SD card, and it's PoE powered.
It's very good for certain applications but it is not for everyone. It not cheap, and the app doesn't support push notifications (which IS a really big deal, IMO)

IP video intercoms are a dime a dozen, anything from cheap Grandstream [Link: grandstream.com] all the way thru really nice ones from 2N [Link: 2n.cz] ( the best in business IMO ). The problem is that most of them are designed and built to work as SIP extensions , so without IP PBX or SIP trunk your SOL ( there are some exceptions ). With that being said there are more stand alone solutions coming out, i.e there is something from Hikvision [Link: hikvision.com] , not sure how good it is or is it even shipping yet .

Doorbird's app update adds better zone / motion control. The stainless steen doorbirds are much better quality than the plastic ones.

I'm Not an engineer, but I play one on TV. My handle is Tweety but I have nothing to do with the organization of similar name. I just had a really big head as a child so folks called me tweety bird. |

The black motion sensor dome on the Doorbird gets mistaken for the doorbell button and gets smashed in like every floor model speaker's tweeter.
Ok....only once....and only by a moron. It takes some pressure to squash that thing. But one of our clients' kid's friends figured it out. Geez!

He would have had to intentionally tried to damage it. Someone needs their arse beat with a belt and I absolutely would not be warranting that.

I didn't believe anyone was truly that stupid. It's not like the actual button looks like a button or that it's lit up or anything Not exactly a cheap fix.

Installed the Logenex Teleport unit and for the most part was pretty easy to use and install. One issue we found is that the units wouldn't call the phone when it was connected to the same network. Tech support thinks it was the router that was blocking it (TP-Link router).
Door strike was used on one of the controllers and it works as it should using the app. Only downside is the controllers have 3 I/O ports and you can't rename them within the app so you need to know what I/O the door or gate is connected to. Adding extensions was pretty easy using the app (only way i could find a way to do it) but wish it would allow you to rename the extension so it shows up on the controllers setup page as to what device is connected to each extension.
The other feature I found was that you can forward calls to a phone if you wanted to, so if you had a standard landline at the house you can forward to that number and still have communication to the door units without needing a SIP phone system.
Also the cameras are ONVIF and connect directly to a recorder.

Is this still working for your client? My client's setup stopped months ago and Logenx is MIA as per my salesperson at Anixter. No Logenex website or phone number avalable.
