For those of you who have installed Pyng with the MMS-1e have you come across the following? If so what was your solution to fix it?

Came across this the other day. When a zone is playing the MMS-1e and another zone is turned on to listen to the MMS-1e the music stops in the original zone and won't play in the zone that was just turned on. From what I can tell this doesn't happen during source sharing, only when another zone is turned on and using any interface to turn that zone on.

I didn't get testing to see if it only happens when the new zone wasn't using the service the existing zone is on prior to it turning off or if it happens all the time, either way it shouldn't be happening. The MMS-1e is a single stream player so when an audio zone turns on it should just select what service is currently being played on another zone.

We're sorry you're having trouble.

If you can, please upload the server log files using the web configuration interface along with an approximate time when this happened. We would like to see if there are any incoming commands from the Crestron system directing the content to stop or pause when the second zone is selected.

Additionally, you can call our technical services group at 1-866-424-4489, Option 1.

Thanks for the quick response yesterday. I also submitted this to Crestron and here is the answer I received from them.

I have had someone at Head quarters mock this up as I do not have a MMS1. Unfortunately that is the expected behavior.

Pyng when working with autonomic's doesn't know which source you are listening to last (were not tracking that). The program is designed to always expect a source to be selected by the user on the MMS1.

I agree with you that it should remember the last source played on the MMS1 and just stay on that stream. However this will need to be submitted as a feature request.

This appears to be more of a Crestron Pyng issue than an Autonomic issue but if Autonomic can fix this prior to Crestron it would be appreciated.

I did ask that they do submit this for a feature request as you can see the person at tech support agrees with me that how it is currently setup doesn't make any sense.

Having discussed this with our development team, there may be a work around that we could help you try. Please contact technical services at the number mentioned above and ask to be escalated to tier 2.

Was this issue ever resolved to where it actually works?

If I remember the MMS-1e had just stopped communicating with the Pyng Hub. A reboot solved the issue as there was not a firmware update to be completed.

Ironically the customer contacted me on the weekend with the issue happening again, had them reboot the MMS-1e and issue resolved. I am not sure if there is a firmware update required for their unit.

Wish there was a way that you could automatically install updates on these units at a specific time of day. I know Pyng will now automatically install updates to any device connected to the system, however I believe it is limited to the Crestron devices.

They can be updated via OvrC.
