Customer doesn't like the iVMS4500 or HikConnect iOS app - especially for playback of recordings. Neither app allows cameras to be named/labeled and neither allows unused channels to be deleted or ignored. So it's very difficult to even select the proper feed for playback. Once finally selected, you can't speed up or slow down the recordings easily.

Customer previously had Digital Watchdog on a simpler 4 camera setup - said it was much easier to use.

Any recommendations for a different iOS app to use with the DS7308HQHISH? Most important feature is ease of playback.

The cameras can't be named in the DVR/NVR?

The DW app IS easy to use. Was price the determining factor for choosing Hikvision?

Cameras can be named in NVR but they don't follow over to the app. Web interface and NVR onscreen interface work well but customer travels/boats a lot and wants to use his phone.

We used 3 existing analog cameras and added 4 new IP cameras. So we needed an NVR that handles both.

Or, use a smaller DW DVR/NVR and merge them on Pivot. I asked about naming them in the DVR because I use DW and it shows the name in the app.

iVMS4500 does indeed show the camera names set in the NVR. Use it all the time. I normally use the Luma app which is the exact same but also have iVMS4500 setup and it does everything your saying it does not. You can select whichever cams you want to view or remove ones you do not want to view

I'd love to learn how. 3 tech supports all told me otherwise. Is it setup in the app or the DVR?

No setup in the app required. Just name the cameras on in the NVR settings and it will carry over to the app. What trouble do you have with setting up the app to view only the cams you want?

yes, name the cams in the NVR. I use Hik/LTS exclusively and no problems here.

what is the difference between NVMS4500 and NVMS7000. I have only used 7000, didnt even know there was a 4500.
I love supporting product that supports me!

We use only HIK. Never had a single issue. App works great. You can name the Cams in the NVR.
