Even better yet.

Design a remote that didn't NEED a 3 year warranty!

The T1-B+ is solid but limited due to the nature of a hard button only remote.

I love the XP processors ability however, you need a remote to make it complete.

A T2i that didn't lock up would be a good place to start along with making the case a little more ergonomic.
Every day is a good day.......some are just better than others!

I got the email this morning.

I understand them announcing this and wanting to go with a 3 year warranty on their products. It is the single biggest issue dealers have screamed about long term - product reliability!
So this would be a direct response to that issue, showing dealers they have worked on it and will backup that claim. Bringing dealers back that jumped ship because of all the issues and keeping dealers that were thinking of jumping ship.

Here is what I'm concerned about:
If the new CEO did this just for that reason - but they actually didn't workout the problems with hardware. Then this will backfire huge. Because not only will it piss dealers off but now they are on the hook for the hardware issues for 3 years now.
It could sink the company.

So hopefully they really have fixed every single bug and glitch in their hardware and it is rock solid now. From the 1st day of install to day 1095 of the warranty.

I just replaced a customers damaged T3V plus with a new T3X, only to read about the issue with the new T3X remotes. You can have a 1 million year warranty, it does me no good if the product is still crap.

Well we know that's not possible and not going to happen, with any company, RTI or otherwise. If you know of such a company please share.

it still amazes me anyone still gives RTI a dime of their money....

Been there, done that. RTI should be writing me a check for all the headaches they caused. who gives a shit if the product has a 10 year warranty, if it still fails and pisses off your client your in the hole.

RTI's time has come and gone. APEX has been promised for years. if it releases at cedia im not sure anyone will be jumping for joy. fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

What difference does it matter how long the warranty is if they won't honor it?

SONOS?

Seriously, it use to be companies actually made products with only a .01% or better failure rate. Those days seem to be long gone but there are still companies that can maintain .1% or better failure rates.

ive got quite a few C4 systems out in the field and many other take over projects and I have to say I haven't had to replace anything other then the "i spilled my beer on my remote" type calls.

it has been very solid and a perfect business move for me and my company. my only regret is i didn't make the move sooner. going on 3 years now.

But Apex goes live next month. Thousands have been waiting years for it to change the world. Why disappoint?

What hat did those fancy numbers come out of?
There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

Memory, best I can remember when manufactures use to actually track numbers and make them available to the public. Was I off by a bit? High, low? Your memory on that is probably better than mine, since you worked in the repair industry and probably saw the numbers from different companies a lot more than me.

Another 'guess' I would throw out is some of these companies have failure rates extremely high sometimes with certain lines (when it seems it was 100%). But only ever eventually say "We have had a few problems".

Someone last year did the factory tour at SONOS and they actually gave the numbers to that group. They were proud of it, as it was quite low for this day & age. It was someone out near you.
