FYI control4 can activate the IP settings for Sony AVRs rom Composer.

Rumor is we will be able todo this with the TVs soon.

The AVR's have an IP code to activate the IP control. With IP control off it is the only command that will still work. I did bring this up to the Sony Tech rep I was dealing and said this same command should have been in the TV's as well. I think they realized with the number of complaints from dealers with last Android TV update that there needs to be a way to activate that function again.

3Pedal I hope you are right.

I just had an issue with two Sony TV's falling off the network. They would work for a few days, then they would stop working via IP. After some troubleshooting, I deleted the MAC address reservation in the router, set the TV's to static IP. Then turned wifi off then back on. This seems to have fixed both TVs. I figured once the lease was up, the TV would lose it IP address, and wouldn't get a new one until turned on again. Moral of the story, don't do MAC address reservations for items that turn on and off.

So the client called back saying he couldn't use anything after I did the update. Said the whole Control4 system and his internet was down. Go over there and sure enough nothing worked. Go to the rack and the switch is blinking like crazy. I unplugged the receivers and the network switch stopped blinking and everything started working again, except for the being able to control the receivers. So not only does the update not fix the issue of the settings resetting, it adds the problem of the receivers flooding your network to the point of it going down.

I swapped the receivers to ir control.

Interesting. I have had 3 or 4 instances where Sony Blu-ray players have completely locked up the entire network. On 2 of them, a simple power cycle was all that was necessary to solve the problem. Neither have been an issue since. But on another project, we finally had to replace one because it kept doing it every few weeks or months.

Just had it happen last week. I pulled the ethernet cable, switched the player to wi-fi, added an IR emitter (was controlling via IP), and let it be. We shall see what comes of it.
