I heard an author (wish I could remember his name) on the radio promoting his new book. In his book he talks about scientific advancements being made, like one group is making a wooly mammoth in a lab. He specifically clarified, they are making it, not cloning it. He said they are writing DNA. He predicted the generation being born now will live 150 - 180 years. The next generation may never die. Think this rock is getting crowded now? Give it another 75 years.

This year, we as a human race reached approximately 7.5 billion people on this planet. A planet that can only comfortably sustain about 1 billion.
Natural resources are being consumed at an alarming rate.
Being huddled together with no room and little privacy inflames anger, tension, and hostilities.

And still humans breed like cockroaches. Scurrying around everywhere, consuming everything, destroying everything.

We so desperately need WW3.
Or that killer plague that is immune to all antibiotics we have festered.
Or that comet to hit the planet.
Or pray for another great flood.
Whether I survive it or not does not matter. If the human race is to make it to the next millennium (or even century at this point), it needs to happen soon. While there is still a chance for the planet to sustain itself.

We only have 5+ billions years left before our sun starts turning into a red giant. And we have to have advanced enough as a species, to leave this rock and colonize beyond our skies.
Not going to happen with the direction our societies are headed today.

Hopefully by then we will have figured out who gets to use which bathroom.

As long as I don't have to explain to my 9 y/o why there is a woman using the urinal, I don't really care.

Most people that have kids have no business or interest in having kids.

Everyone around the world should be sterilized at birth.
Then people could screw around at will.
White, trailer trash would eventually disappear since none of those mammas ever wanted to have any kids to begin.

In order to have kids, person(s) (noticed I didn't say parents) would have to show stability, financial responsibility, etc.

This right here. Absolutely 110% and this is part of the reason shit is out of control.

Just like a drivers test you should have a year long course on kids, how kids are made and prove fiscal responsibility. Would solve a lot of governments problems around the world.

I also can't figure out why there isn't a male birth control yet too. Figure if a woman is on it and a man is on it the percentage rate goes to almost zero for "oops" babies...

Did both of you fail biology? If you sterilize everyone, how to you propose they have kids later if they pass the qualifications test? Also, sterilizing erode reaching sexual maturity causes the body to not mature the same as normal because of hormone changes. Ask any farmer.

My wife in I ran into the bathroom 'issue' for the first time in March at the Phoenix airport, my wife was going in the women's entrance just as a guy was coming out!

Any problem with a baby license is that the people who would be, in most measurable ways, meaning any way that could be defended in court, the best situated to raise children are those who are quite concentrated on their careers. But it's hard to argue that those would make the best parents by all of the other measures, all the ones that would never be accepted as verifiable metrics.

This is a common problem that runs through our society. It's why we have standardized tests even though most folks probably accept that they aren't a particularly good gauge of educational success, for instance.

If it's not measurable, then it will never become an accepted metric for any tests of legal status or public sector employee/institutional success. And of course that's hard to argue against because then it's a matter of opinion.

The only way around that is to give people the authority to make those decisions without having to worry that every decision they make, as they were told to, will cause them to get fired and have people outside their house protesting or harassing their family (and their bosses disavowing any knowledge of what happened.) And you know that's never going to happen.

The joys of human nature. It sucks and there's no way to defeat it. Every potential solution will become a victim of it in turn.

So, I assume you all will be working until death? If the US birth rate drops much lower there won't be enough working population to pay your Medicare and Social Security. Some economists also believe it will also cause massive economic contraction. Japan and Europe are headed in that direction right now and the US isn't far behind. Alternatively we could just start euthanizing old people, right?

Lol. So you think someone who feels like a woman, dresses like a woman and spends all their time living as a woman will all of a sudden go into a men's bathroom and whip out their dong to pee in a urinal?

Possibly, if the law says they have to go in the men's restroom. I think you misunderstood, I'm on their side.

Fine, we have this thing called vasectomy.
No negative side effects and if managed properly, totally reversible.

Do not totally agree. A trip to Walmart will prove there are plenty of newborns. Just many that won't work or are already checking out their future possible employer. See here (name left blank). You could works here and collects from the governments too. And yes white trash is just as bad if not worse. Crystal, this is where uncle Jimmy, Tommy and Justin, Auntie Mercedes, and Cousin Loretta work. And girl you need to sign up for WIC and everything else you can when you are old enough.

Mass sterilization at birth would be difficult to manage. Currently we cannot manage universal, mass immunizations. (and, to some extent, mass immunizations are counter productive because they enable population growth.)

Introducing a conception blocker into the water supply would be more practical on a mechanical basis, but still have all of the political/ethical/moral considerations. But we need to keep focus -- saving the planet. If we don't actively manage our situation, and soon, mother nature will preempt all of our moral dilemmas. At that point the final grade for the human experiment will be "fail".

Transgendered individuals didn't just show up in the past 10 years. They have always been around and have used the restrooms they identified with, and most people never even knew it. I blame the politicians for making an issue that didn't exist.
