You know, I put expensive racing tires on my rusted out '75 Ford Pinto and I just can't understand why it won't go above 15 MPH!

Dude, what's 10/100? That's like dial up bro.

The good thing about Meraki is it will auto mesh. The bad thing about Meraki it will auto mesh. It's like Sonos: on a crappy network it will try and fix itself and may not tell you it's running like a 75 Pinto. Unless you ask it and check our dashboard.

Put in an MX64 in and check your interconnect cables/switches. Try to get basic managed G switches. Watch the magic happen.

All joking aside, you've got bigger problems here.  Meraki isn't your issue.  Sounds like you have a cobbled together mess of a network.  Enterprise grade APs on a shit foundation.  That isn't going to end well.

Yup, when you asked if it was all meraki gear I started remembering all the other stuff we ran into. It's a crap system design.

Not our problem, though, since we're replacing the systems with ALL quality stuff.

Ruckus access points, Zone director, Cisco managed gigabit switches, Ubiquiti air fiber, litebeam, TOUGHCable, ethernet surge protectors, etc....and we purchase bandwidth via a fiber company in the area as the source for our signal to beam around here and there. The old company was getting it, I believe, from one of the cable companies...Cox I think.

There's a map of the resort. It's a pretty big project.

Meraki has all those features in one software interface. I've seen a housing development roughly the same size with outdoor WiFi, fiber backbones, etc. All Meraki, in one dashboard. It's pretty amazing.

I don't believe they have a solution like AirFiber though.

I'll take all that crappy Meraki gear... I'll pay shipping to HI.

Meraki isnt the issue here. Its a crappy foundation like Joe said. If your selling the stuff for pennies on the dollar ill take it. the stuff is far from junk. the Meraki dashboard is one of the best if not THE best.

Yeah, if Joe is P2P, I figured that out when he asked me about the other gear involved. Light bulb appeared n what not. I had just never thought about it, though I knew the pieces fit. I trust everyone's reviews of Meraki. I checked their stuff out online and for what they charge, it dang sure better be good!

I'll have to look into the dashboard that you guys mention, just so satisfy my own curiosity, since yall say it's such an awesome interface.

Sorry BigPapa and 3PedalMINI, it's not ours to sell. Technically it still belongs to the old provider (so far as I know...we pulled their gear in one of the high rises for them to come pick up). Of course, if a situation arises where we are able to collect the stuff, I'll tell my boss that if he wants to sell it to come here and offer it to the fine folks here. Actually, we tried to buy the old company, but were unsuccessful. If we wind up being able to buy them and that stuff becomes ours....yeah. Maybe we'll even throw in the old 10/100 switches for cheap. HA!

While I'm typing, thanks for the input. My name is "Grasshopper" for a reason. I got into this two and a half years ago with a degree in audio engineering and obviously not all of that education translates over into this field. That's why I come here. Nobody is going to teach me anything but myself, so thanks for any past and future input on anything. I'm going to be asking some questions that might make y'all smack your foreheads.

They'll take the gear back unless it's really old 80211n or outdated.

If a company has a leasing model then it's good to use other places. The license basically is warranty so putting in used equipment has no risk of running out of warranty.

My first experience this last week was not good. I didn't supply the stuff and was glad it was customer supplied.
My iphone, her iphone and her Mac will not stay connected for more than 10 seconds. My windows 7 Pro programming computer has no issues.
2 MR33 APs. MX64, 2 MS220-8P. Sonos was a problem to set up , but that maybe their latest Alexa update. Not sure.
We also put in 2 MV71 cameras too. after three days of working fine, one says it has "connectivity problems" , yet I can still see the image and autofocus the units.
I have to go back when the second building gets done to put a fiber (SFP connection) between one of the switches and another to the guest house.
Dashboard is okay. To many sideways swipes with overlapping windows.
The App to register the gear on my iOS device did not work, but the dashboard app does.
God help you if you make a change or add a piece of equipment. You might as well take a lunch break after you hit apply.
I may be schizophrenic, but at least I have each other.
