We were recently instructed by the client to install two LG 55UJ7700 (restaurant going for cheap TV) they had bought. Each has its own DirecTV receiver.

I was taken aback by the claim that the TV and the remote use RF instead of IR, and that the TV and remote were paired together. According to my quick read of the instructions, the restaurant would have to have both remotes at the bar, one for each TV, to be able to turn them on and off. It's much more convenient to have one remote that can control both of them. Since they're sixty feet apart, that's not a problem.

So I set them up.

But I couldn't believe it, so I went looking for codes in the DirecTV remote, and sure enough, IR TV codeset 11778 worked perfectly.

If you run into a TV that has a spiffy RF remote, be sure to check the DirecTV codes to see if one will work!
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

I guess so. I haven't run into many TVs that say they only are controllable via RF. Thanks, guys.
