Hello all... I have a newb question to ask. I'm setting up a surround sound system in my master bedroom and would like to hide all the a/v equipment in an adjacent closet. The problem that I'm encountered with is how to control these devices when they are not in the line of sight. I do have a philips pronto pro remote that I currently use for my family room a/v equipment that I would like to leverage.

I have a diagram of the bedroom layout in case anyone would like to see where the a/v equipment will be located.

Any ideas will be helpful. Thanks...

Run CAT5E between closet and tv monitor location in bedroom. Use this wire to connect an IR sensor that you locate at the tv monitor to an IR repeating box and enough flashers to communicate with whatever equipment you have in the closet. Many manufacturers offer this equipment. I prefer the Niles setup. With that setup you can use your pronto pro. With the right repeating box, you can even add sensors to other rooms and extend the use of the pronto pro to those rooms.

If you're using the TSU-6000, you can mount an RF extender in front of your rack and control the system that way. If not, Penny's plan will be just fine, if you can still run cabling.

Good Luck,

Thanks for the info... Can you tell me where would be the best place to buy the niles ir equipment? This sounds like the best option for me if I would want to expand further on this.
