Someone else did the prewiring, and I have a K2 in the client's master that runs downstairs and accesses the stack for house music, etc.
There is some local equipment in the master that needs to have an IR link to so they can aim at the keypad and operate the local receiver/DVD/Sat box.
The cat5e goes from the K2 directly downstairs...but...can I just pluck the IR connections out (open the cat5 as it passes by the local equipment and run those leads only to a connecting block) and make it fly? The IR is not needed for downstairs, as they only do the keypad manually in the master.
