Never thought that way about any of the above. It was a personal and professional progression. Granted, HDMI is a prick as well as seemingly planned obsolescence.

i don't recall saying any of this either. Hell, I remember asking Sharp at Cedia why I could not control their TV's via IP a decade or so ago. They brought an engineer out to figure out WTF I was talking about.

I knew a girl that said I'd never. She lied too.

I'd have things to say, but you get an automatic pass because you picked up the bar tab.

All three are great sometimes. We had less problems before all three. HDMI we could do without. Wifi is definitely a convenience worth keeping and well IP kind of goes along with it.

Don't remember any of that, but I do remember so many saying they would never use anything less than full CD quality, uncompressed music.

The, but a few years later, many of the same were using....

I remember when I spent way way way more time installing equipment, building cables, and using the sound meter to dial in the sound around system, vs. updating firmware, troubleshooting HDMI issues, babysitting the ISP installer, calling tech support about yet another bug they missed because they did not really do any beta testing whatsoever, dealing with customers who do not remember their netflix or pandora password. Good old days are gone. Do you think the noobs will remember the 2010s as "the good old days" in 20 years?

One of my clients was on the board of development for HDMI. He seemed real proud of the technology highlighting the fact that no one had yet been able to break the code. SMH
