Inside trouble free: Sony TV, Integra DTR70.6, DirecTV, PS3, Apple TV (new).

Outside, to Panasonic TV: All sources lock in every time except Apple TV blank screen a lot of the time. Using HDMI zone 2 from the Integra. Shut down system, restart, etc usually fixes.

Change AppleTV resolution? Firmware updates known to correct this? Other ideas?

Connect Sony Tv to zone 2 , see if your problem is still present. Possible update of firmware on everything especially the outside tv.

Put an HDMI splitter in between the DTV and the receiver. One for inside, one for outside, call it a day. Sorry, one source only. If you couldn't tell, I hate zone two video out :)

So the DirecTV works fine, it's the AppleTV that is haywire. Would you still try the splitter?

For the record, my personal thought has been when I read of somebody using the zone2 HDMI output, "You must be nuts. We have enough trouble with the main zone HDMI output. You want to take a chance on a second zone besides?"

Then I read about other people who seem to routinely do it, so for the first time ever I give it a shot, and here we are.

How does the HDMI get out to the outside? Is it a long HDMI cable or a HDMI Extender?

Either of those may be the problem as well. The power off/on sounds like the ATV isnt handshaking to that display correctly.
Don't read my answer. Someone else will go into great detail as to why I am wrong rather than answer the original question...

Long HDMI cable. Have another one in the truck for when I go back. Trouble is, once I get it working, it keeps working while I am there.

Must be using B version of HDMI. How Dumb Must I Be.

Kidding, just seemed like a good time. Try all the little boxes, different inputs go home, hope and open a bottle of scotch.
