They knew who he was in advance. He was on their radar.
Ed will be known as the Tiger Woods of the integration business, followed closely with the renaming of his company to "Hotties A/V". The tag line will be "We like big racks and tight holes"...

Just for clarity...exactly who is it time to round up?

The people they were watching. Just like after the recent attack in London when they rounded up all the people involved in a matter of a few hours because they had already been watching them.

In light of yet another wuss that got converted to the Terrorist Muslim crap, I wonder how long before the UK and France have a serious change of heart in the way they are dealing with this menace.

A terribly difficult thing to deal with is that this was the 22 year old son of Syrian refugees who came to England before he was born. This is not just someone who came to England and bombed it. A whole life was lived in England and this was the result.
A good answer is easier with a clear question giving the make and model of everything.

The guy was born in Manchester. How exactly would they deal with him?

This Abedi guy is no different than Timothy Mcveigh. He can claim to be part of some larger group or some larger group can claim him as their own but the bottom line is that hes just some loser who decided to murder people.

"Rounding em up" as a strategy for "dealing with this menace" would look like this....

All Arab/Muslim individuals who are loners or get a hard on when they see weapons and all black onesies...hate the government.

All White/Christian individuals who are loners or get a hard on when they see weapons and camo...hate the government.

I don't know about you but i am not willing to just jail every man in the South or Appalachia because he might decide to kill people some day.

Obviously if someone does something fishy i want them put on a list...Like some guy buys 50000 rounds of ammo...some other guy asks his instructor at aviation school "what size plane can take down a skyscraper". This is what happens right now. Suspicious people get put on a list and watched until they break the law.

Sometimes they get arrested for something small before they do something big. Other times they stay under the radar enough to make it to the big game. This is true for drug dealers, tax evaders, car thieves, prostitutes and terrorists. Most modern countries have an "innocent until proven guilty" philosophy that they try and stick to (but usually fail at).

So i ask you again what strategy do you think would work? Travel & Immigration bans? Ok check...this murderer was born in the town he blew up children. Travel & Immigration ban wouldn't work unless you want to roll it back to his parents...or their parents? How far back should we go? What criteria should be considered for the michlings?

The issue is the many circles of acceptance. Bill Mahr tried to explain to Batman but i don't think he got it.

Islam by and large is a typical peaceful religion. Like Christians most are the religion they are because their parents (parents parents etc) were. Very few wake up one day and decide what religion they are going to be.

Inside of the larger "all Muslims" group you have smaller groups. Palestinians for example. Most of these folks HATE Israel just like the Native Americans hated the settlers. They are on the front lines. Within the larger group of Palestinians you have folks in a small group who do the suicide bombings. Surrounding them are people who condone the bombings but wont do it themselves. Around those people there is a larger ring of people who will never publicly condone the bombings but secretly cheer when one occurs. Surrounding those people is a group who would never support violence of any kind but they frequently talk about the Israelis as if they are the devil. And finally you have a ring around those people who do not support and will not discuss violence ever. An angry energetic 20 year old in a good family might decide to join to cause against those evil people his parents have been talking about for 2 decades.

Same with the Italian mob. It might surprise some of you to know that all Italians aren't proud of Tony Soprano. There are a similar series of circles with people who actively participate in the gangster lifestyle at the center all the way to the outer edges where the people despise these murdering thieves.

If you want to make sure that your children don't grow up thinking its okay to marginalize a/any group of others...you have to make sure that you teach them that its not okay. You cant crack racist jokes and expect your kids to know that you aren't really racist. You cant listen to rap music about B1Tches & H03s in the house and expect your children to know that "its just a song". You cant pray for a travel ban or border wall and expect your children not to follow in your racist footsteps.

Thats about all you/they/anyone can do and it still might happen. You still might end up with a child who grows up to be a murderer. We live in a world where 20+ innocent civilians are killed every day in Syria and dozens of other regions in the world. If you step into the shoes that those people are wearing (or have been blown out of) you might understand why its so easy for young loser idiots to get angry and try to kill a bunch of strangers. We lost almost 3000 on 9/11 and we have been dropping bombs ever since.

Mac, I thought what you posted there was very well thought out and relevant. Hate breads hate. Fear breads fear. And blowing everyone up won't fix anything, no matter which side is dropping the bombs.

Just some stats found on internet. I know some that seem like nice people. Not so sure I trust them. Then again I really dislike many people. In general the human race sucks. Something went wrong when man was made.

Mac, your analysis is very level headed if you don't mind me sayin' so.

Do I interpret your conclusion as "don't do this because it won't fix the problem"?

If so, what DO we do? Surely you wouldn't recommend we stand pat?

There is no truth anymore. Only assertions. The internet world has no interest in truth, only vindication for preconceived assumptions.

I hope we don't get to the point where a "thought police" force is perceived as the solution -- for our protection, of course.
