If so I will ask my questions.

My first one though is can you do a wireless water sensor with a GC3 panel??

I tried to use a 2Gig flood sensor model: [Link: google.com]

Keep getting conflicting info on this - cant even get a straight answer from 2Gig. Supposedly it works but the firmware for it has not been released?

TIA for any confirmation

Chris, thanks for chiming in:

It says you can use it with a GC3 with firmware 3.1 or higher, but then the panel won't update past 3.0.

Do you know of a water sensor that will work with the GC3?

One more question:

My goal: to have a notification sent to my customer on Alarm.com if they lose power to their sump pump power outlet.

I rigged up a 2 Gig thin door/window contact along with a 12volt power supply and relay to create a basic contact that would open when power was lost at the outlet.

The only problem is that the GC3 panel insists on having the door/window contact as a perimeter or exit/entry device, so that if the power goes off and the contact opens, it then wants to send an alarm state to the central station. This would obviously not be good.

Wondering if by any chance you've set something up like this successfully with a GC2 panel.

I think you need to set the sensor type to Alarm type no response

Yeah tried that but then it wouldnt recognize the thin door.

Have you used the Honeywell 5821 water sensor with the GC3?

If you are using the external contact leads, I think you need to set the loop to #1. #2 is the default if your using the internal magnetic contact.
No, never used the water sensor. Did it enroll in the system OK?

Yeah, used Loop 1. Strangely, it would enroll in the system fine. I set it to no response and then chose contact I believe. I then sat in front of the panel and tried to trigger the contact several times just by touch the wire leads and the panel does not respond.

IDK. It seems like it should work. Maybe I messed up something. Will probably try one more time when I go back.

It may sound dumb but double check you are learning in the correct S/N, it's super easy to just hit ok. The panel maybe picking up a neighbors device.

Honeywell 5821 water sensor works with the GC3 as long as you have an FP280 water sensor as well.

At this time the GC3 with version 3.1 firmware does not interface with the Flood Sensor however that is being addressed in the next firmware update which is coming soon.
