There is not a product in your list of products that takes an ounce of skill to install. Just saying. Hard to be an expert on plug and play gear.

Well, this is awkward.
You may be just outside of our standard
coverage area. Maybe we can still help?

We’d love to help if we can.

I love you guys... I built this site..

To answer the questions..

1. 2016 copyright...Launched today, started building in 2016.. I changed it for you.

2. You can find their coverage area in the zip code finder on many of the pages..They're in an area with young professionals who're making some decent money, but may not be ready for a full blown "system"...We can control who sees the site using some local SEO techniques, so in reality, if a visitor googles it, they'll more than likely be in or maybe just out of the zip code area.

3.  These guys are pros like you...They just saw an opening in this market and jumped at it...You're right, there's nothing on this site that you can't find in most big box stores....the sell here is some good quality products that can be purchased, delivered and installed without getting off the couch.

I don't really understand the negative reaction to the company shilled in the OP. Geek Squad is terrible. The local "AV Guy" will want to turn a $3000 wish list into a $30,000 proposal. Having access to a pro who assist with the installing of "DIY" gear seems like a great idea especially if you are in an area with lots of young people with access to disposable income. There are plenty of IT guys, handy man outfits etc that make a good living dealing with niche markets like this.

Every building downtown Chicago has a "guy" that the doormen recommend to clients who need help with iPads or wireless cameras etc. I think this market is expanding at a rapid pace and honestly...after dealing with sonos and harmony over the last couple of years...i would love to have more 1 day installations with no support call backs. You guys can have the 3 year mega projects and maybe i can finally unpack before moving again.

Mac, I'm more busting balls as a pro that apperently has either not contributed here or chose to sign up with a new name has a single post to promote his site. I always felt like there should be a minimum post count to post any links or for sale posts. I've been on other forums with rules like this. Usually 25 or 50 post minimums

No, it should be a minimum of 26,000 and each post must be at least 300 words.

Let me clarify for you guys.  These guys have been doing this for 20ish years..They're members here and have been for eons.  They don't want to mix the new venture up with their existing shop...

I specifically asked them to post it here to get your guys input...I knew you guys would beat it up...which is what I wanted..You guys are hyper-critical of anything like this..., I can use that to try and make my sites better.

When you guys started beating it up with the BB comments etc, I started looking around...Here's what I found.. On each page of RC, there are 29 threads, so I went to the first 3 pages, so that's 87 threads.

Judging by title alone, I figured this venture can handle 29 of 87 threads that were posted on the first 3 pages here.  If the customer request is too large for remotes-plus, they can easily cover it with their other shop.

Being a little removed from the industry now, I've gotta be honest...This sort of thing is coming and coming fast.   These guys have enough sense to try and capitalize on it rather than accept diminishing returns.

Google, Amazon, Apple, Nest, etc...they want in this market and they'll take the market share...these guys are in a perfect position IMO.

I love the idea and can't wait to see how it works out..

When the first thing you do here is shill for business, you do not go on my list. If you're a member here, use your member name and add your business information to it. Otherwise, contribute something for a while before asking us to throw money at you.

Truly. Most people will be wasting time even looking. You can't even tell us what STATE you're in?

Really? Sounds familiar.
