Can someone please explain what does the new move by SONOS mean exactly ? With other brands when they eliminate independent reps all the distributors lose the line , with SONOS looks like all the existing distributors are keeping it ,so what exactly will be changing ?
Thx

Sonos never needed reps. I always wondered why a product that sells its self; has under ten skus and has a less then one percent failure rate ever needed them.

Reps never poached us as an industry, we collectively came to them.

However, just like their "commitment" to us at cedia that turned into anything but this is just another shift away from our industry. I would not be surprised that in the coming months the changes to the dealer program mean you have todo over 50k in product and have a showroom to be direct. The writing is on the wall.

Ever sense the integration debacle I have been actively testing other products....why after almost 20 years not a single company can even make a product comparable to Sonos is truely baffling to me.

This industry sucks, the manufactures suck and I feel like this industry is a train without a conductor heading off a very large cliff.

Sonos needed reps to sign up dealers. No matter how good of a reputation the product had, many CI's would never seek out to become a dealer for a product sold in target and Best Buy. They needed recruiters that already had an in with the CI dealers. But after that, they had no need for the reps

Once Heos was introduced, I tested it out and switched. The sound quality of Heos is Hands down better and you make money on it. Never looked back. The only Sonos I sell anymore is if the customer already has it and wants to add on.

Sonos is dropping all rep firms and going direct with dealers.

That's great, except for Heos has what, 3 services the customer can use? Sonos has all streaming services. If Heos would get more services, it could be a competitor.

And an alarm clock feature. The same goes for MusicCast.

I just looked at the Sonos services page. Apple Music, Pandora, Spotify, Sirius, I Heart radio, and Tune in are the only services that I get asked for. Heos has all of them except for Apple Music which NONE of my customers ever use. Another monthly payment? No thanks is what they say. (and I cant agree more) Couple that with much better sound and its a no brainer

Oh, and a sound bar option. That is a big seller for us.

Fins, Heos has two soundbar options and the new one sound very good. We don't use Heos but (like 3PM said) we've been auditioning a bunch JIC

Heos has, Pandora, Spotify, TuneIn, Amazon Music, Deezer, Napster, iHeart radio, Sirius XM, SoundCloud, Tidal, Rhapsody, MoodMix, Juke, AWA. What's missing? The new HEOS Bar @ $899 and HEOS Sub @ $699 are killer. 4 hdmi inputs, arc, Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio support. What's not to like?

I missed the sound bar being added. When did they add it to the lineup? The dusty that had Heos had a display for a while, but it only had the amp and speakers.
